so how do I do story missions with friends?

You have to start it solo, get to the point where you see your target and view the cutscene, it will say that you can now use a SoS flare. Then you can exit and joing up with your friends to do it together.

You cannot view the cutscenes as a group, they have to be viewed solo first.

Both of you go in seperately and watch the cutscene. At some point it will say something like "you can shoot SOS flares now". Quit out of the quest and post it again and now your friend can join.

Technically you don't all have to quit and one person could just let the other players join their quest in progress but so far for me it's given me an error each time I try that.

as long as there's a cutscene, you can't do it with friends, unless your friend already finished the missions before joining you

The way this monster hunter does online is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and backasswards. It was fine in the previous games have no clue why they butchered it

Not true, your friend just has to have seen the cutscene.

instead of starting new quest, you can them in your party, start the quest, view the movie, then after they can jump in game.... no need to restart the quest...

What a retarded way to do it, capcom shouldnt force us to do such thing, I hope they fix or do something with this anoying feature.
