Stuck in "Searching for an Online Session"

I've currently been stuck with MHW trying to find an online session for five minutes and cannot exit out of this short of ending the Monster Hunter World process. Note, it's not taking five minutes to find an online session with it telling me every little while that it can't find one like it normally does, just five minutes of not being able to do diddly-squat. This is...not ideal.

Try using the filtered search and just set all the filters to have no preference, that always works for me.

I will try this in the future, but I had to quit out of the game with the task manager which was somewhat frustrating. I feel like a "Press B to cancel searching" prompt wouldn't be too much to ask.

I know it is not ideal-- but this just happened to me too. Was stuck for about 10 minutes but idle animations were still functioning without issue.
I corrected it by temporarily disconnecting my wifi. it timed out 22 seconds later. reconnected internet. bandage on the problem- but it stops the necessity for task-manager.

Ooh, that's a good idea. I've not had this problem since but, if I do, that sounds like a "solution".
