Hmmm. Mh is a couch game for me. Not a desktop game. I have to sit closer to my tv but i fancy my couch more
I guess we just had to wait for modding community to do something about it like they did for FFXV's font.
came back to it after couple of years, saw the 'New Feature ! - Large Text Options!',
was happy to see that, changed both to large,
and after I started the game,
quickly realized one of the main reasons I didn't like it the first time --
Impossibly hard-to-read text sizes,
and this is _After_ the 'new' options to set it to large,
I barely see a difference and it's extremely difficult to see the writing and the excel-spreadsheet-ish fonts.
This is one of the major reasons I voted the game down -- All this high budget fancy graphics and art,
but they can't be bothered to make actual hand-crafted fonts to not only give the game a 'charming' hand-crafted feel (which was common in 'retro' pc games),
but actually make the game readable for people.
I play from a couch and this is very common nowadays (especially for controller based hack+slash games) yet they designed it so you have to be 1 foot from the screen.
Really this is atrocious,
and how many 10s of Millions does a company like this have to spend on their games?
Ridiculous.
Because it's quite readable at 1440.
and second, it assumes everyone's 1 foot from the screen.
The game is completely and easily readable 1 foot from the screen,
the problem is that many people play using controller from a couch up to 4, 5, 6 (or more) away.
Games (as an example) for xbox 360, you know those 'peasant' consoles with low power graphics often times done by a small team often times never had this problem,
the text was large, easy to read, and very playable regardless if you were up close or far from the screen.
It seems these asian mmos forget that and think everyone plays at a table with their face next to the monitor.
The only time changing resolutions help making text easier to read is if you make it smaller,
magnifying everything and making it awkward because then the text takes up more space, but you see much less of the actual game and the UI becomes all distorted.
This whole issue is a joke as in it shows how little regard devs have for gamers and is one of the many reasons modern games lost that 'magic' older games used to have,
and many people stopped buying modern games and games in general.
Any reasonable person can tell modern mmos are 'factory-made' in techno-asian sweatshops and have about as much love and creativity put into them as the typical boy-band.
Yeah some of the 'blind' may be fooled, but anyone with any sense knows they're churned out for mass production.
