extremely quiet audio?
Hey all,

Does anyone have a solution for the extremely quiet audio?

I've already switched to headphones, 3D sound and I've messed with the different ranges, but the same is still extremely quiet. Part of the issue is I am somewhat hard of hearing, so everything is really hard for me to hear. I tried a program that boosts audio but it just made everything muffled and bassy.

Thanks for the help!

I've tried everything and there's no difference, and I don't think I have Dolby installed. The game just continues to remain at 10% audio apparently.

What operating system are you running? Sometimes Dolby is automatically used by the manufacturer, rather than the end user. In case you aren't sure, and didn't know where to find it:

In WIndows 10:
Right click on your volume setting
Choose "Open Sound Settings"
Then choose the "Device Properties"
It will open the properties of your Speakers selected.
Then choose the "Dolby Audio" tab
There will be a button to turn it On or Off. You'll want to turn it ON

Can also get there by going to Settings -> System -> Sound

In Windows 7... I don't have it in front of me but you want to get to the properties of your Speakers.

Just in case you didn't know where to get to the settings, since you weren't sure if you had Dolby.
MHW audio is low to be honest.

I had to lower my friend VOIP...

She was way louder than the monster I am fighting.

Well, once I turned Dolby Audio back on, my volume levels were the same as any other game I play. I can easily keep my speakers at 15-20% and have the same level of audio as any other game I play at 15-20%.

Compared to having to have my speakers at 100% to just barely hear MHW when Dolby Audio gets toggled OFF by the game starting.
I'll try to help, Into your output options try to disable "exclusive control" so monster hunter can't disable dolby. Here's a screen to help. Worked for me, hope it will for you.

I'm having the same issue with my game (extremely quiet even when maxed), but my computer does not use Dolby - I'm using NVidia audio drivers and running sound through my monitor. Since there's no dolby audio to disable, I can't re-enable it. Also changed the "exlusive control" setting and no luck.

Same here, but I'm using Logitech headphones through the USB dongle, and my on-board sound is Realtek
The game is filled with bugs, like this game needs a 99.99 gb patch
I have the same issue. I have to set the volume of windows to 100 for it to be normal loud.
I had to go to my sound settings and configure the enhancements to get the sound to work properly.

I managed to fix it for myself
I am using Logitech G430s, and was using the Logitech USB amp. The Logitech software does not have a Loudness Equalization option.

I unplugged the headphones from the USB amp, plugged them into the computer directly, and under my Realtek options was loudness equalization. That combined with turning on 7.1 surround fixed my audio issues. Wish I had figured it out sooner :P
Did you turn off auto-mute of the mic in your windows?
I hear you dude (or not). I also suffer from hearing problems, and nowadays things seem to get quieter with time.

Part of the problem tho is the fact that I'm a broke slug who had his sound system fail like three years ago and never bothered to get a new good one, so I'm sticking with these 5 bucks speakers which suck.

Maybe we should both try a powerful amp to mess our hearing more, but at least we'll feel that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ BASS

On windows 10 in your sound settings. Head to the "more sound options" at the bottom.
There you'll find "app volume preference" (or something like that).
Monster Hunter was set at 50% for me, idk why.

Maybe that'll help
I've been having a similar kind of issue, sound is fine on title screen but when creating a session it dips in and out like someone keeps covering the speaker. I don't have the dolby audio options in my sound properties so I'm not sure how to go about it. I'm using logitech but that doesn't really matter as the sound will still be messed up even when it's unplugged.
