Private session says i can invite friends, but i can't

The game says "people can still join via ID or invitation" if i choose to create a private session. Sending IDs is really annoying, especially because it often stops working after the lobby exists for a while. (Not sure why they don't just use steam play multiplayer like every other game.)

We kept getting this too. Try this. Not sure if thisll work for you, but worked for myself and some friends just an hour ago.

From another user. Have everyone Run the game. Then switch Steam to Offlinemode on the friends list. Someone start a private session from the mission board. Get/Copy the private session ID ingame and send it to friends on Discord or other msging service. Friend then join via session ID.

Upon doing this, friends were able to connect to my private session ID and weve been doing missions for 2 hours now.

Maybe it'll work for you guys too.

Why set steam to offline mode? you can just send them ID and they can join.

There seems to be some networking issues atm. And my friends and I were unable to find session while in Online Mode. Even after giving the private session ID to friends. Some people may notice, keep your steam friends list up on another monitor, that your steam account will go offline/online very quickly every few minutes while playing MHW. I suspect this is part of the connection issues. Going to Offline Mode has possibly solved this for my friends and I at the moment. It's odd. But I'm sure theres hotfixes coming.

My problem is not that i don't know how to use ID to join sessions, i just wish i could INVITE my friends, because it is a totally normal thing in multiplayer. ID sharing is an unnecessary step.
And there IS an option to invite, it's just gray'd out if the session is private. No way i will use an open session tho, because i don't want randoms to join.
