Streaming Monster Hunter World
So I've been trying to stream Monster Hunter World on Twitch but it seems like no matter what I do to try and improve the quality of the stream it just doesn't work. The most I've found is dropping my software's encoder to Ultra fast (EW LOOK AT ALL TEH PIXELS!) and while it does help it just pixelates everything to a blurry mess.

I'm running an intel core i7-4770k and a Geforce GTX 970

I've been having similar issues. The game runs pretty well right up until I click start streaming and then the performance drops through the floor. FPS is more than cut in half and the game hitches constently.
I haven't been able to find any way to improve quality in the slightest.
I've got an Intel i7 6700k and a Geforce GTX 1080

If you are using the same PC to play and stream you're going to have a BAAAAD TIME, going to want to have a separate PC and capture card, that's what I'm using.

Not sure I can justify an entire new PC just to stream MHW. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope this issue gets fixed some time soon.

I tried streaming and my computer kept the game at 60fps but my CPU was constantly maxed and my stream was choppy and laggy since not enough CPU was going to the stream. So I decided to wait till either the game is optomised (unlikely) or just not stream all together. Or desperate solution would be to upgrade but this is the only game that maxes my cpu so I can't justify buying a new CPU just yet.

this game is quite cpu heeavy so you need powerfull cpu if you are using the same computer to play and stream. And 4core cpu even with HT is not nearly enough for this game. I have Ryzen 7 2700x in my current build and I can stream this game with fast preset easily and still having 60fps lock on my game. You also need to drop some settings in the game before capcom patches some of the biggest optimization problems

Use the gpu for encoding on this game.
Hitori Aug 18, 2018 @ 11:47pm
just switch the game to 30fps in game, it worked for me

Yeah that's what I did Hitori. With the game at 30FPS it barely puts a dent in my PC

Nah I'll pass bro, with the game at 60 FPS it maxes both my CPU and GPU and besides GPU encoding is just terrible.

This is GPU encoding, not really terrible in my opinion.

It's not like I could do it if I wanted to as I said, MHW on PC at 60 maxes out my CPU and GPU constantly. So I'll just stick to 30.

The issue is your streaming the game iwth only a 4770k. This game is very CPU heavy and from streamign this game you really need a 7700 for a smooth experience. It also doenst help you're using a gtx 970 which is worse then a 1060.

Depending on which stream software you use, I use SLOBS. That software can also be cpu using, so both programs using your cpu and what not your running aside will always have impact on your system.

This is only an issue at 60FPS, if I play at 30FPS my CPU and GPU barely go above 50% usage.

If you're using one of the newer generations of i5 or i7 CPUs you may have the option to use QuickSync encoding. If you have the option to use this or NVENC, I'd say NVENC seems to give you the better performance but the stream will look pretty muddy. QuickSync seems to look nicer and give better performance than X264, but it won't perform as well as NVENC.
