best low rank armor?

any one have any suggestions on what monster to farm low rank armor for?

I usually go with the bone set and pump it full of armor upgrades. As you play, you'll find skills that complement your playstyle that you can switch out for.

i've been using bone set so far, is it actually the best set till high rank? i'm using charge blade btw

You can cruise with that for a while, probably find that stuff like rathalos are gonna hit you hard with it, I personally upgraded to legiana's this time around and it's done well without armor spheres I think it should hold me over into early high rank as well. (the set bonus is nice for extra rewards too)

It's all subjective in regards to what you're fighting. An armor that gives high fire resistance is going to be less effective against something that's lightning oriented. Most bosses in the game are dragons and use fire, so anything involving that should be alright. Or just look for whatever provides the highest defense if you want a general set to wear. But you're gonna have to start making armor sets for different scenarios later on in the game.

Armor doesn't matter a whole lot. The defenses can add up late game but honestly either just go for style or go for skills that you like.

You shouldn't really worry about armor until you're actually having trouble with specific monsters.

It depends on what you're doing, how you play, what you're hunting, what weapon you're hunting with. Wear the gear that compliments your style and also provides bonuses for the thing you're hunting. The "best" is going to be different based on all that.

This. You can just go hunting naked. Your weapon is what matters the most.

I went with Bone for that attack bonus, the rest is just fashion. It's pretty much like Dark Souls where you'll get facerolled regardless of what you wear. So whatever looks cool to you, craft it!

I would add one point of guard from the barroth set as well then. Having that point lets you block some of the huge hits that would normally send you flying.
