I just want to know if they are other players' cats or if they're developer made, as you wouldnt expect the devs (or translators) to name a companion "dip sh!t".
Until i know for sure i can't mark the thread as answered, though.
EDIT: That is indeed the Palico i met in-game. So after you recieve a guild card from another player it seems you may encounter that player's Palico in the wild!
When you unlock palico safaries, those palicoes can also be among the expedition
The base cats that can join you in a mission have a given gadget depending on the map. Having a player's palico join you means that you have acces to cats who could potentially have different gadgets
Get close and your own palico should have a little chat with it, and recruit it to help you!
Plus my Cat can "tame" smaller predators, its freaking cool to see my Cat riding a Jagras into battle lol.
you learn about the diffrent tribes of cats during a sub-quest in the highlands, but you will get "gadgets" from brefriending them
not really once you be-friend them their will be 2-3 groups of them on the map so you can pick your fancy on if you need a buff cat or a cat will force taunt enemies for you
