HP Omen Laptop 17 Rx 580 crash/slow fix (Win 10)

Hey all. Like many others I have had the game crash on launch of the application. I read on these forums to fix it was to install 18.8.1 drivers. This allowed the game to launch, but the game seemed to be in slow motion. I looked up task manager to look at performance and everything was pegged but couldn't view my GPU. I ended the task to regain control of my PC and tried to open Radeon Settings. This led me to discovering upon installing 18.8.1 that it had been corrupted or something else was wrong wrong with the install. I downloaded 18.8.1 directly from AMDs website thinking the update via Adrenaline was bad somehow. The direct download has the same issues. So, did my last ditch effort. I had windows update my driver for me. It rolled me back to a january release version. I launched the game and have been playing for about 2 hours with no issues. I imagine the optional update I had prior to 18.8.1 (I think 18.7.3?) was bad and something is bad in 18.8.1 for some Rx users for this game, even though this seems to be the driver for it. I don't have any Vega cards so can't comment on those. Rolling back to a more stable version seems to do the trick. I am running a mix of Mid/High settings with the Resolution scaling set to high and have 60fps. I imagine with proper driver support I can go high/highest settings as the autoscan had recommended (1080p). I am fine with the game just being playable.
