MHW Volume Levels REALLY Low?
I usually run my speaker volume at around 30% while also running games also set to 30% on top of that. This setup is to ensure that VOIP can be at greater volumes if needed and that YouTube videos, Twitch streams, etc. are louder than the games being played if I wan to listen to them in the background. However, with MHW, in order to get the volume akin to other games, all game volume is at 100% and I increase my speaker volume to around 40%-50% to achieve a comfortable listening level. This is an issue because everything else is running at the volumes I've fine tuned for them and thus VOIP, videos, streams, etc. must be turned down greatly as to not blow my eardrums out. Then I have to change everything back if I want to play another game.

"First world problems", sure. But considering that I only have this issue with MHW, I'm curious if others are having similar issues. Maybe this is an audio bug?

I am also having very low audio volumes in just MHW. Everything is set to max in game, and max for my application settings.

Anything else that my computer does because of this is so high. And MHW is just barely loud enough.

Windows 10.

Picture of my volume settings. And the graph showing playback. MHW is playing the town music, and you can see the volume level is so low (everything set to 100% in game). Firefox is playing a video on youtube, for reference, and it is almost 50% sound output with just people talking.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone on this. Which means it's on MHW and not me. I just hope they'll fix the audio levels if enough people complain about it. So keep it up, everyone!

I was able to find a cause to my problem, and a temporary fix (which has to be applied every time you start the game).

Not sure if it will fix yours or not. Can't hurt to check.

Enable Loudness Equalization on your speaker/headphone settings. Most Japanese games for some reason require it to be on for their audio to function correctly.

What I did to make the game louder was remove the applications exclusive control over ym audio device (speaker).

Go to Windows search bar > Manage Audio Devices > Right-Click on Speakers > Properties > Advanced > Uncheck the Box that lets applications take control of device

This made the game literally 100% louder for me

This worked for me. I tried what Addam suggested first but that didn't help.

Thanks.
