Fullscreen launches as "windowed"

Hey guys.
So the game works perfectly fine for me but when I launched it today it suddenly started up in "windowed" even though it says fullscreen in the settings.
I've tried changing the fullscreen and resolutions settings multiple times now (borderless windowed works like fullscreen but lags horribly for me).
I've also updated my gpu drivers.

No idea why it suddenly bugs, it worked before then. I didnt change a thing.

Yeah I get that too for some reason, try holding ALT key and pressing TAB together to get to desktop and then clicking MHW to get back into the game that fixes the window crap for me.

Someone else told me to do that too... Sadly it doesn't do anything for me :/

What you could also try doing is going to your steam lib. finding MHW, open up properties, go into your local files, go into the compatibility section, scroll down until you see disable full screen optimization and check that box

before you do all of that, make sure that your resolution on monster hunter is already set on full screen, so you won't think that it's on full screen when it's actually on borderless window

You have to go into the local files of MHW. Right click on the .exe file with which you launch the game. And then go into properties and into the compatibility section -> uncheck/check the box for the optimization.

Its done with the actual .exe of the game, not through the steam library.

I´ve solved it via Task Manager. Started the Game and go into propertier via Task Manager and unchecked the Fullscreen Optimization.
