ERR08 : Memory overrun

* Intel Core i7-8750H
* HP
* Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (notebook)
* Driver Version 398.82
* 16GB Ram
* Windows 10 (64bit)

When the game launches, it shows an error "ERR08 : Memory overrun" then it closes the game. Happens all the time. :/

Try this, since you crashed from the game startup, it may have preloaded estimated settings based on specs.

Go to you Installation drive for Steam

"Drivename" > Steam > steamapps > common > Monster Hunter World

Look for graphics_option_presets.ini and a line near the top says "PresetCount=4". 4 would be the Highest possible preset graphics. Change that number to 0 or 1.

That error you got is often associated with graphical overload.

The same goes for the graphics_options.ini

You can change ShadowQuality from High to Low, and other settings that say On to Off.

Hi, thanks the help. I have tried doing this and even lowering the resolution in the graphics_options.ini. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I have also tried installing a really outdated version of nvidia driver, still getting the issue. :/

This works for me too.

Edit: You may try to install a more outdated version of the driver, it performs better. I'm using 390.77

Thank you but the version you mentioned do not fit my laptop. I bought the laptop in June, and the old version can not be installed.

My guess is that it's actually nvidias fault. I have many driver issues since months. Even in windows...

Maybe it‘s capcom's fault, they didn't update the game to the newest graphic driver...

It seems like it actually isn't nvidias nor capcoms fault. I just figured out that "duet display" caused this problem. After uninstalling the application and restarting windows the game worked even with the latest nvidia drivers. Maybe some of you are using duet display or any similar application too

Wow. This is actually true. I uninstalled "Duet Display" app and updated my driver to the latest version and it is working. Uninstalling "Duet Display" also fixed my issues with other games and apps.
