Adjust Direction of Spirit Blade - HOW? (PC/ Keyboard & Mouse)
Hello Hunters,

So I've been struggling playing Longsword on Keyboard and Mouse due to being unable to adjust direction of where I attack using Spirit Blade (CTRL).

I've been watching many youtube videos on Tips and Tricks of the weapon class and all the console players mention it, but make it seem so easy and common sense that they never explain how to do it.

What am I missing for the PC version? As my problem is what while I'm going through CTRL + CTRL + CTRL + CTRL, my character is facing one direction and attacking in that direction, but my camera is facing WHERE I WANT TO ATTACK, yet never does. So I'm just left attacking air and missing my Spirit Blade combos, especially the last one which is the most critical.

Is there a setting change to help with this? For instance I know the game settings weren't properly optimized at all for PC players regarding the Circual Dial for items (while running and HOLDING Q), it was set to Gamepad by default, which rendered it useless and required to be set to Keyboard.

Thanks!
Volkai

You need to stop and reset your position to change where your attacks are going even if that means resetting a combo.

Is it only bi-directional with W A S D as in Left, Right, Up, Down. You can't press W+D to go "North East" in a sense?

I haven't been able to do this with keyboard or controller. I thought that was a core mechanic of the series.

Usually you would be able to control you end combo hit to change direction. I know some people may just look at the combo chains from the training area, but with proper timing, it's possible to extend those combos, especially with a longsword, if you take into consideration not only when to attack, but when to let your attack animation stop and when to restart your attack after the animation.

That's exactly what I'm trying to replicate with keyboard and mouse. Either I'm bad (and I know i am... hahah) but the sequence seems more difficult to replicate on Keyboard with the input delay, than a controller.

This video exactly says that it can be done, but using it on a controller (Skip video to 6:40)

I find this so difficult to do, especially aerial lands with Keyboard on Longsword build. Dual Blades, i seem to be able to do it 100% of the time almost, I'm not understanding the difference...

Is it just as simple as using W A S D? I'm having issue with it properly going where i need it to
