Lets use the mission that you fight the Barroth as an example. During the boring walk with the cart section two players doing that mission for the first time wouldn't be able to join each other. Yet once both of them finish that bit and the Barroth fight starts one player could abandon their quest and join the other. Good news is that the quest completion will count for both players. This is just a very stupid thing that the game does.
Sorry that the only way to do it, for story progression, if this round about way. Good news is once you are out of the story sections it wont be a problem ever again.
Well no idea why they did it like it is.
At least I know how it works now.
Thank you all for the fast help.
I just did the Story Quest involving A Great Jargas.
The Cutscene for the Great Jargas didn't happen until well into the mission.
Does that mean I had to play through the entire first section of the mission first, where I had to kill 3 males and 5 females of some other animal, before I could join my friend doing the same quest?
Even then, would I use the SOS flare to summon him in or to join his game?
