Game unplayable on Dell XPS, the game doesn't use GTX1050 at all
The PC Specs:
Dell XPS 9560 laptop
Intel i7 7700-HQ with Intel HD630
Nvidia GTX1050 4gb
16gb ram 2400mhz
500gb SSD.

On this pc I can play all games, from the Witcher 3 to Far Cry 5 with no problems.
As I started Monster Hunter: World the game lags like hell, with super low graphics setting and I get the game run at 5fps with pikes of 1fps (the game lags so much that audio, video and subtitles go out of sync...). I checked on task manager and I saw that the game always uses GPU0 (the intel integrated one) and never the gtx1050. So I went to Nvidia control panel--> 3d settings and set the game to run always with the gtx. I went even in the new Windows Settings (game mode) and set the Graphic Settings to always use Max Performance with Monster Hunter. I even launched the game with right click "run this app with->high performance gpu".
But nothing worked, the task manager always says that the game runs with the gpu0 (and the game is literally unplayable at 1-2fps....
How can I do? I upgraded all my drivers, did a fresh install of Nvidia driver (398.82 which is made especially for Monster Hunter...). Other games work perfectly with the gtx.
I'll post a pic of the task manager with the game launched.

Is it using your dedicated GPU or the Intel onboard graphics?

The task manager says that the game uses the Intel graphics, even if the little windows in the low right corner of the screen says that i'm using the gtx1050. If you see the pic i uploaded you'll see the gpu usage of the game

Disable the Intel adapter in Task Manager and try again - force it to the use the nVidia one. I had a look at the options and I can't see a way of selecting which one to use.

You need to configure your graphics drivers to prefer the GTX1050 for your video card.

Is there another place to select it other than where I already said?

Downgraded to the Nvidia's driver 398.36 and now at least on task manager Monster Hunter seems to use the right gpu. Unfortunately the game is still laggy and at 1-5 fps...dunno what to do, it's very frustrating

Hi, I have a same problem like you and also have same laptop model (Dell XPS 15 9560).
Have you found a solution?
I sent a mail to capcom and they asked for dxdiag and msinfo files, I'm hoping for a solution...

Attempting to play MHW on a laptop..

Brave soul indeed.

Just switch to your dedicated GPU. Stop using your intergrated one.

You got a driver problem. The game isnt seeing your 1050.

You probably have a weird chipset. Laptop hardware support falls through the cracks.

Open Nvidia Control Panel located in your Taskbar. In "Manage 3D Settings" tab, make sure Preferred Graphics Processor is set to "High Performance NVIDIA Processor". The game is likely trying to run on Intel integrated graphics.

It doesn't help/

Ok then give us the chipset name and model number of the computer. Also look in the bios there may be a way to disable intergrated graphics and switch in there.
