Anjanath had me on the verge of a rage quit
As a longbow user, it kept one-shotting me because of the fire breath. Insane range. Undodgable if you're in the sweet spot. Comes out faster than Thanos's finger snap and is just as lethal. Had to switch to melee to stand a chance.

I've just beat him with someone's help after what lasted probably 30 minutes. Does the game ramp up on the BS factor? Or are there more ways to prepare later on? Because at this point in the game I feel that was an INCREDIBLY UNREASONABLE BORDERING ON COMICALLY PSYCHOPATHIC difficulty spike.

I'm very new to MH, it was extremely hard in the beginning but later you'll get the hang of it and know what to do in some situations.

I'm also using longbow now, melee didn't really grow on me and found the combat pretty tedious.
With the bow i can keep a distance and shoot at the weak spots and let my pet cat get aggro so i can use my big skill.

It's an awesome style. Worked very well until I got to him. Easier to learn their moves. Easier to see it coming. Easier to hit the weak spots all the time.

Don't get hit.

if anjanath is killing you in one hit check your armors fire resistance

if its 0 you take normal damage from fire

if it's -1 to -10 you more damage than normal

you will need armor with +1 to +10 fire resist to take less fire damage and prevent 1-shotting

Yeah that's the thing. The only thing I could get was Leather Armour. That's +2. But the defense against any other attack would be miserable. MAYBE it would have helped? I can't say for sure.

As I said, melee it's super easy to dodge. Just roll to either side and you're fine.
Use the Bone Set and Kulu head.

hey, u know what happens if i get one shot fighting monsters? It means its time to upgrade or forge a new armor. but yeah if ur really struggling, get the fire res up. Yes the game will spike even further and more BS movement other than Anjanath. What you need to do is to learn the movement of the monsters, when to evade when to run when to hit. Make sure you eat the food at the canteen or at the camp to get a Health Boost, or craft Mega Nutrients / Ancient Potion to get ur Max HP

I'm hoping that helps in the future. I just crafted Anja greaves so that's a start. I can't go beyond rank III weapons yet though.

yeah no worries beyond rank 3 weapons is fine cos they're quite a bit later in the game to get the mats, just get the armor up and ur good to go

Yeah, Anjie's definitely the first major wall for new players - I've had my share of being turned into charcoal on the PS4.

Here's a trick to preventing yourself from catching fire: wear enough armour to get at least 5 fire resistance, then eat the veggie platter for Elemental Resistance (L). This should boost you up to 20+ fire resistance, which is the threshold for immunity to fireblight (being set ablaze).

Anjanath is the first major wall of the game he is hard just because your not equipped well enough to beat him

get bone armor set, upgrade it with armor sphere. then get water bow.
eat in the canteen before you go.
when it comes to fighting, be very very very patience. this game is not your typical hack and slash
. positioning is the key.

Cant you jist stunlock that anj ?
Egro Aug 10, 2018 @ 12:13am
I've never really need to actually boost my fire res, just stay on its side and snipe its head. The bow is a very easy weapon to use but greedy and impatient will kill you. Just wait until you meet other monsters later which actually track you with their ultimate 1 hit move...yeah I'm looking at you spiky. :steamhappy:

Ole' Fire Sneezy is actually really easy and his fire breath (the long flamethrower one) has a pretty big tell to it. His annoying fire sneeze-mouthfart is quick to throw out though.

Sadly, since you're a bow user I feel no pity for you. Bow people are a source of much aggravation and staggering to melee players.
