Not an issue with the game but steam itself. Had this issue with Neptunia Rebirth 2.

It was probably Denuvo.

Reinstall it. Duh? Thankfully it will detect the existing files.
This is a very common issue with steam that they have never seemed to fix. To get around it you just need to run the game and steam will attempt to download it,find the files, and show the game as normal.

I love pc but this has never happened on play station same happen to me I left the game pause to come back and I have to reinstall

I guarantee there's no way the game actually uninstalled its self.

The data is still on your hard drive. Just restart steam.

Remember to always check the date before you necro a 3 year old thread.

relaunch an install, it will check the folder and will just validate

it is a known steam issue and it happens, when your acf file gets corrupted.
The game wasn't uninstalled, it is still on the harddrive only steam think it is gone.

easiest and fastest solution is simply replace this *.acf file so you save the time for checking local files etc.

Such stuff could always indicate the beginning of failing hardware. Use crystaldiskinfo to check status of the harddrive and better create a backup before you lose it completely.

relaunched after PUBG uninstalled, started download and the files in my steamfolder is gone? Any quick fixes here...?

its a known error with steam. usually bc the game is on a different drive than the steam exe. sometimes attempting to run the game solves it. you might have to google the solution.

ive had steam refuse to recognize entire steam folders on different drives numerous times over the years and sometimes steam only recognize other drives and ignore the main drive the exe was on.. "steam things"
