Temporal Mantle is basically superior for a bunch of reasons, namely allowing you to clutch claw without any risk, and being able to dodge a few attacks automatically which generally means it has more lifespan than a Vitality mantle which would get obliterated in like one to two hits.
Insofar as Mantles go, those are kind of lackluster once you have the decorations and such. You're probably much better off using a Glider Mantle with a Hard Element Res Jewel in it, and an Elementproof Mantle, that matches the monster you are fighting, due to the uptime.
Vitality Mantle is good in Low Rank and somewhat useful in High Rank though, sure. If you don't have the Temporal Mantle or upgraded + mantles, bringing it along with an Elementproof Mantle for certain fights (I.E Kirin) is never a bad idea for the additional safety net.
I think it's just a flat amount, I could be wrong, but I've never used it endgame without it being used up in one hit
But with the temporal upgrade it has about 2 mins up time every dodge it kicks in its 20 secs off
so if a golden rath did the 3 move combo thats 60 secs off
i'm not sure it it was buffed in icebor but lest supposed vitality actualy absorb 200 hp of damage
on master rank depending on the mosnter that coulb be just 2 big hits
temporal on the other hands can save you up to 6 big hits so..
If you are just talking about fighting without taking damage then vitality is better since it absorbs all damage while small fast hits will still get past the tempura mantle. I guess if you need an 'oh sh*' button then vitality.
If you just want to go ham on the monster, however, rocksteady is the way to go, gives a small defense bonus (slotting in protection decos will help this, but unreliable). Like tempura you can get free wounds/yeets. Only thing is that you may kill yourself using it.
it kinda need a nerf it was op free dodges with no risk.it was a blanket
Temporal is just more useful because if you do need a mantle to stop big damage, it'll do it 5 times tops, and it has a lower recharge time if I recall.
Both of them not really made to make you invincible, they are used for some cases only to avoid some unwanted outcomes.
Nope. Been playing since MHF. 70 or so hours in MHF, 1000 in MHFU, 600 in tri, 500 in 3u, 1000 in 4u, nearly 700 in world/iceborne.
Was a fun mantle to ♥♥♥♥ around with.
