Missing face textures for female characters.
So I decided to return to Monster Hunter after a few months and upon reinstalling the game I've run into an issue where every female character has missing textures for their faces. The shape of the face is just a checkerboard pattern. I'm not using any mods at all and have tried reinstalling the game again and even used the verify game file integrity option in Steam. The issue still exists. Anyone got any advice?

go to your MHW installation directory and see if you have a folder called nativePC, try to delete it or just move it away from MHW folder and it should be fixed

There's a setting in the graphics options that 's something like subsurface scattering, I think? Try turning that off. I'm not sure what else could be causing it for you.

Try reinstalling your GPU drivers with a clean install and see whether or not that fixes the issue.
Maybe you could try to disable the HD texture pack if that's installed and see whether that fixes it?
I'm not entirely sure what could cause such a strange issue to be honest.

You could contact Capcom support and see whether they can solve it, as I'm a bit perplexed as to what could cause such a strange texture bug.

Sounds like you may have old lingering mods.

That could be a possibility, I did use a few mods on my old install. I don't know how to go about fixing it though.

I don't think we have the full story here, it looks like u DID in fact use texture mods. Either update them or try to re edit your character face using ingame texture

Sorry for not being clear. I used texture mods months ago when I played on an old install. Today I reinstalled the game vanilla no mods, started a new game and I got the missing female face issue.

It's not the mods, then. Usually isn't anyway. This isn't Skyrim where texture files are stored in your save-file.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Panda's solution worked for me. For some reason I still had the nativePC folder for mods in my directory. I guess it wasn't removed along with the rest of the files when I uninstalled the game the first time.
