Turf wars are killing the game for me
Having my screen blocked by 3 huge models doing their thing, fighting and screaming at each other is getting VERY tiresome.

There is nothing cool with having an angry Jho, a Tigrex and a Ebony Odo at the same space.
Nothing cool with having a Seething Bazelgeuse with a Brachydios, Fulgur Anjanath or countless other examples either.

No emergent gameplay on such situations, just chaos and a blocked view by huge 3d models. People then start throwing dung pods everywhere, and all creatures target included are retreating to the next sector continuing this chaotic behavior.

The mechanics are simple bad, the novelty of seeing a Jyuratodus fighting a Barroth for your first time is not there anymore and the mid to late game has become a ''multy creature management simulations'' instead. Started a new character recently from ground zero and the experience was soooooo much smoother. Hunt your targer, farm it for a while to make cool stuff from its drops then prepare for the next target. Simple and fun.

I dunno personally I never use Dung pods so I just enjoy the chaos that comes with multi monster fights, it becomes real intense and I love it but I can see the irritation that comes with it

Basically free damage and you can alternatively dung pod the monster you want to fight and ditch the others.
Faust Wither Feb 27, 2020 @ 3:05am
dung pod or smash them together using clutch claw.

In previous games you'd have the screen blocked by three huge models trying to eat you.
Jokes aside, it's not perfect as it is and it can get really frustrating when a cycle of chase-dung-chase-dung begins but it's a step in the right direction.

Oh no this thing that consumes 0.000001% of my playtime in this game is killing the game for me /sarcasm

People still don't know how to use dung pods after all this time... :mhwhelp:

Usually the monsters tend to roar and leave those situations soon enough?
And if it's an angry Jhoe doing it, enjoy the damage it deals to the monster you're hunting.

As far as Turf Wars go, I'm pretty sure I've never taken damage if I just run in there and take swings as they go on? Although I'm not 100% if I'm dealing damage during it either.

yeas you do, the only thing is that they can't die during the animation, so for the duration of it the monster HP won't drop below 1

Cor. Always wondered why dudes were sitting back as they happen, I don't think there's an active hitboxes during any of it although the mons are rolling around slamming each other against the pavement. It's kind of weird that there isn't.

There is at least 1 exception. You get hit when Pickle Joe smashes its enemy on the ground. Don't know if there are other exceptions.

Personally, when a turf war triggers I just let them finish their 'scripted' fight before I start pelting the intruder with dung pods.
What I truly find suuuper annoying are those investigations where your target runs off immediately after a turf war and then is chased after by the intruder (even with dung pods), they have another fight, then target runs off again, that you end up chasing your target all over the map.

I forgot what monster Savage deviljho suplexed... Oh Black diablos.

Say whatever you want, but I do appreciate monster interaction this time around... Though it does end up demanding for earplug...

I just wish the game wasn't so particular about it happening, Let me change what happens. I want to see something else happen since I can usually paralyze a monster in like 20 seconds, Let me change the outcome or something. you can't even get free clutch claw attacks in.

Seriously can someone explain to me the point of all this??

OP you like many others just got the world to complain about don't you? no no hear me out before the insults flinging begin, hear me out hear me out....

Okay so you have a problem with Turf Wars but why must that be a problem?? 2 things to take into consideration here just like DaBa said here... uuuuuuse your dung pods!! they are there in the game for just that reason to make the monsters go away so you dont have to get inbetween a Turf War. 2nd - you may not agree with this fact but alot of people like OP they dont really know what they are saying. If they would have it their way (hypotethically) then you would carve out a big and often cool mechanics of the game! like Faust Wither said you can smash the monster together which makes for incredible epic gameplay. I don't think you guys really truly understand that if you had your way and they got rid of said mechanics or whatever then the game would be stepping down a few levels of epicness. Thank god rant post usually dont get their way otherwise it would ruin the fun for alot of players. I'm guessing you are new to monster hunter, if you been a fan of previous monster hunter games you would not make such a post but rather embrace this feature.

Eh...I see them as moments where I can kick back and watch Godzilla and make my hunts easier. Unless you're hunting Rajang, and the disheartening moment of seeing him swing a Rathian by its tail like a Tom and Jerry cartoon, or sucker punch freaking Deviljho before walking away like a gangsta (if Deviljho can't solve your problems, you're on your own...this guy helped me kill elder dragons! :P).

Everything in moderation, my dude. I never said that a turf war once in a while can't be epic or fun, but as it is right now, it simple feels like the Devs just wanted to flex their cool animations skills than trying to introduce epic moments while we play. It can't be a cool moment if it's happening 95% of the times. It's tiresome and make people disliking and avoiding certain stages.

Let alone that killing my target after a turf war feels a little cheap. I prefer winning the hunt due to personal skill or a good teamplay than having the game win it for me by weakening my prey.
