Iceborne weapon popularity list

Was thinking about it and I remember LS being THE most popular weapon and seeing it in practically every hunt, but I feel like I barely see it anymore. I'm mostly just curious to see if my personal experiences align with overall stats, if anyone has them.

I'd say people are playing the weapon they like despite "what weapon does the most damage" lists.

Did you read his reply? He said the speedrunner tier list has LS at 3rd. We aren't talking about speedrunners, well I wasn't at least. I was talking about how people make tier lists of what weapons are better influencing others away from trying other weapons resulting in a large disparity of weapons used.

but the point is nobody is making tier lists that are having any significant influence on weapon usage otherwise hbg would not just be middle of the pack, lbg & sns would not be lower middle, insect glaive would not be higher than all of them, etc.

People creating tier lists affects weapon usage. People creating meta builds affects weapon usage. You don't see threads about people wanting to know what the worst weapons are so they can play them, you see threads of people asking what the best weapons are and weapon tier lists.

There are people out there who make what weapon is better, what weapon does more damage. It's not one single person but the mentality of listening to people who make their lists and people who ask what the best weapon is.

i do not know how else i can try to explain that nobody is listening to tier lists otherwise the weapons that actually do the most damage like hbg and lbg would not be so low

I just failed a Fulgur Anjanath investigation with my Blast SnS because my teammates carted 5 times. I should've switched to support.

I'm a Hammer first but SnS and Gunlance are my other weapons.

I feel like there's a difference between "most played weapons overall" and "most played weapons in MR endgame".

People forget that most people are still playing the rest of the game and not just running T3 investigations nonstop.

Weapon tier lists? And ones that are actually influencing weapon usage? Where are these? Whose making them? I've never seen any.

I was super surprised after I saw how much damage the charged insect does after randomly remembering you could charge it in a hunt. It definitely made the weapon much more fun for me.

Were you using matching element? I usually just run the MR Whispervesp (RIP unique models) and I do charge but that's mostly just to get a stun off faster.

Yeah I only use elemental glaives and insects, haven't bothered to even really try to come up with a raw set since honestly it's maybe my least used weapon. Seeing the millions of explosions (blast dust) and the bug damage really made the weapon much more enjoyable for me though.

If speedrunners can't deal "the most damage" I don't think an average player would, neither would they, following your logic, voluntarily choose a weapon that appears in the bottom of a list.

Are people creating lists, or meta builds, or whatever, or not? What affects weapon usage if people are not making lists? Since lists do exist, why don't the list of weapon popularity reflect the list of weapon damage, if people want the best weapon and the tier lists?

I don't see your point, and to be perfectly frank it doesn't seem like you do either :)

while it's metal as ♥♥♥♥ to beat the crap out a monster with a music instrument build with parts from the same species, i rather suck with the HH and been more toward to the Switch Axe, SnS, Gunlance and IG

A bit dated but weapon popularity never changes that much.

LS will never leave the #1 spot, it never has and never will as the wep was created to cater to it's audience. Just like how HH and lance are always fighting for the last spot as they don't have a community/weirdos behind them.

That youtuber is an insufferable muppet. You can get far better info from phemeto, tds, jinjinx and tuna, ph elites, etc.
