Frost Sac only from killing Legania?

So I've been trying to make the full Legania (spelling?) set including weapon but I need a total of four frost sacks. I have captured the thing five or six times total and not a single frost sack.

I read the item description and it said it was an internal organ. So I decided to kill it for the first time just to see what would happen and got a frost sack. I've killed Legania three more times since then and every single time I've gotten a frost sack

Is that just messed up RNG or do certain monster parts only drop from slaying? If that's the case every single bit of information I read online is incorrect as it said I could get a frost sack from capturing

EDIT: Another slaying and a frost sack... about to try a capture just to see. Maybe someone else can try it on their own?

EDIT#2: and another capture with no frost sack. Getting really hard to believe that's just RNG

No, all drops you get from capturing and slaying are the same

They use the same loot tables, capturing even gives you more items than slaying.
So, capturing is always better than slaying.

I want to believe that, but I am only getting frost sacks from slaying. I guess thats just RNG but how is it that its so consistent?

It's as consistent as RNG gets; unless theres an item with a 100% drop rate, RNG will never favor you

im not talking about favoring, I think people are confusing what Im talking about. Again, I have only gotten a frost sack from slaying. 4 kills in a row with 100% frost sack but 5-6 caps with 0 seems less like RNG and more like internal organ parts (fire sacks, frost sacks, w/e else) MIGHT be from kills only since you can only get the part from a dead creature...?

I really want someone else to test this on their own if possible just to see.

It's purely RNG; capturing and killing give the same rewards

Want a free frost sac? Go to hoarfrost, watch the beotodus do it's spin in the snow at southwest of the map and it'll drop a frost sac.

It's not consistent, just happened to be your luck.

I've almost never killed anything in mhw except elder dragons and I have never found an item I couldn't get. Including frost sacs.

1 cap after that and 0 frost sacks

My guys, that is terribly consistent.

Again, it's all RNG, but feel free to keep killing Legias if you want to believe there's higher chances.

Also the in-game hunter's notebook has frost sacs listed as a 3 star generic reward, but again, feel free to believe anecdotal evidence over literal facts.

Try sending the tailrider safari out to hunt Legiana. The drop rate for frost sacs (and other sacs too like paralysis) is annoyingly low from quests but is one of the few things the Safari can actually get so you tend to get a few each go of it.
