the Bazelgues HH isnt too terrible, lots of recovery options and an attack up song, and its blast with good raw.

as far as whats meta i be clueless. but, the Bazel HH is one i enjoy and do a lot of good damage with as well as support in co-op.

Luna Blaze horn is probably still a solid damage horn with the 20% natural affinity, good white sharpness, and song list. RIP Deep Vero

Thank you, if I recall Bazel is a pain in the butt to deal with

I don't know anything about the Kulve ones, I heard one of them was good against Teo, a "Water" one, naturally. All I remember is the Deep Vero Deviljho one and the Bazelgeuse one were always a popular choice due to damage + Attack Up (XL) being on them.

Any horn that offers "Wind Pressure Negated" is a boon when fighting Kushala and Lunastra, too.

though if we're talkin style points, Zinogre and Garuga HHs are neat. and yeah the Luna horns are solid. Nerg note set on a blast horn WITH hasten recovery is just silly. Sharp note spin attack for heals.

indeed. having a solid wind null horn or earplugs horn is essential to being top support.

Zinogre and Garuga require Iceborne, though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing beats the Royal Chordmaker. The sound it makes is sublime. What a shame it sucks in pretty much every other area, though, although I never checked to see if its Master Rank version is good, or if it got its own Gold Rathian one. Clonking things with a big golden bell sounds appealing, actually.

Other skills that are popular (not sure if these songs are restricted to Iceborne however) are ones that reduce your specialised tool drain rate (makes mantles last longer) and stamina cap up + stamina regen up + stamina costs down, especially popular for Dual Blade and Bow users, that one. The gift of practically infinite stamina is overlooked and underutilised, but never unappreciated. I couldn't tell you which horns have those songs on though, I only ever used the Deep Vero for a bit after Deviljho appeared in High Rank, then moved on after 100 or so uses.

Vespoid horn is the most universally useful one

Other good ones are:
Shara horn
Bazelgoose horn
Valkana horn
Acid glav horn
Arena horn

The Royal Chordmaker makes its triumphant return in Iceborne! Melodies include: Defense Up, Ice Res Up, Stamina Up, plus it has high affinity and the fire element melts Velkana. I prefer it over the other heavier Fire HHs: Anjanth Humm & Glavenus Horn.

The Tool Use Up and Stamina Up melodies are found on Lumu Drone II (hidden water) and Brachydios Horn II (blast).

There is no "universal" Hunting Horn since choosing a horn is based on a whole host of factors, quest, environment, monster, armor...etc. But as a go-to HH, if you don't wanna think about it too much, the Sforzando II or III is a safe bet.

Lol why didnt you just buy iceborne on xbox instead of being stuck with vanilla game on PC?

Empress Roar "Blaze" in base game has my vote as well. It's even in my profile pic, lol. Incredible songset with Melody Effects Extended, 20% affinity, good slots, white sharpness that will never run out with Master's Touch, and the blast makes up for the damage lost to other horns.

Even in Iceborne I use the Rarity 12 Blaze because the blast and extra slot economy make up for the lost damage compared to The Rasping Ballad. One can easily stack Attack Boost 7 and Agitator 5 since only CE4 is needed. As a little bonus, the Kaiser Coil Blast Attack 2 works for this horn.

I sold the game on xbox and it went on sale on steam and I wanted to get back onto it since I play on the pc for most of my games now. Plus I read bad reviews on iceborn , so I will wait till it goes on sale to get it. But, in the meantime I want to enjoy the core game that I enjoyed so much before.
