Dear Gunners
Please consider slotting in health boost into your armors instead of building full damage, it's cheap and keeps you from carting so often to oneshots in multiplayer. Divine blessing is also fantastic and cheap to slot in. The biggest "muh deeps" loss is carting after all.

Of course this applies to anyone who carts often but I feel like it applies to gunners more than blademasters, who I feel can get away without health boost, but divine blessing is still something I use on every set regardless of ranged/melee.

Health boost? Sure.
Divine Blessings? No way.

BTW, I only use range on fights I'm comfortable with. Against crazy stuffs like Tempered Elder / Tempered Rajang, I always go melee.

I think this is mostly addressed at those gunners that to get hit and cart a lot. If you are confident in your abilities and cart rarely, I doubt that OP would ask you to run HB.

Agreed

Most people aren't this good, and by that I mean the vast, VAST majority of players, and one hit can be absolutely lethal to a gunner with 0 defensive skills. If you're allegedly good enough to not get hit then grats, this post isn't for you!

Yeah not everyone might like both, but you have to admit Divine Blessing is a pretty good skill
I think Health boost is an absolute necessity for gunners though, and I really enjoy divine blessing on my blademasters, sometimes I use both on gunners though, they've never let me down

And there's a skill that's good at helping avoid hits called Evade Extender.

USE EVADE EXTENDER.

Evade Window is probably better, I like 3 points in my sets

I'm in the "just get out of the way entirely" school of dodging with Bow, personally. Helps a lot with monsters that like to charge at you.

Yeah that's fair. That's also what I used to do in older games since the base i-frames of rolling are pretty unforgiving, but I've been having a lot of fun with evade window since I made the narga set earlier in MR.

IMO you should use one or the other depending on weapon choice. Bows, Swaxe and both the Lances should have Extender, and everyone else benefits more from Window (except maybe DB, Extender might be better for those demon mode hops)

Yeah I've played some gunlance and I'd probably never without max extender, window never hurts though
