Capture Net range increase or game just trolling?
Saw the blue bird spawn in Coral right out the cave in #10, but it's on a rock out of reach for the net. I try to scare it to move, so maybe I can grab it as it flies around. Nope it goes too high up and stays out of range for the net until it leaves the map.

Did the developers legit just put it there as a troll knowing you can't even get it, or is there some BS to make the net reach further?

i think you should use the glider mantle to fly up to the bird then use the capture net

I'm still trying to capture those fuzzy little birds that ride on the moss swine.
They're white in normal and HR, but in a MR hunt I saw a fluffy black one.

Critter capture is the ultimate endgame ;D

I saw the bird perched up on a branch in camp 17... I just held my breath and did a YOLO... I used to catch petricanths like that on ps4 after I got enough to fill the water in whatever the final house was.

I hate how rare some of the endemic life is, next is that stinking oversized jellyfish, and then them stinking digging monsters... Viper Karachi almost hit me when I was trying to catch the big fish in that area... I almost skipped my remote across the room.

I'm wailing on the button and here comes this dude howling, I caught the thing, got the achievement and then got sent flying... smh.

They're also on top of gastrodon in elder recess... much easier time catching them there... I saw one on a mosswine's back, but I was crawling through a space, I had no time to do a thing, screw that crud.

I got like 4 of those off the treasure hunt swaps.

Already got the blue bird from Ancient Forest, it spawns right next to the camp and it's a really easy capture there. This one spawn I saw in coral is just weird since I see no means to reach the rock it's on, it's completely off the map and just too far away to reach with the net. There's nothing to jump off, nothing. Just plain placed out of reach.

The one on mosswine back is bristly crake
While the white one is downy crake

White small ones are Downy Crakes. You can make them spawn easily by going to area 1 in Wildspire, equipping the Ghillie Mantle, then going down to the flowery wetland area. The Apceros will come down to the area as well, and as long as you don't look at them, the crakes can spawn. Listen for the chirping and then turn around to capture them. Thanks to this method my Seliana house is riddled with the little fluffballs. Eat for Felyne Zoomaster to increase the spawnrate. They also spawn more often during daytime.

The dark ones are Bristly Crakes. The easiest method I've found is to spawn into camp 1 in Elder's Reach, jumping down into the corridor between area 5 and 7, and then going to area 5 to check on the Gastodon up the small cliff while wearing Ghillie Mantle. If it's not there (it'll ride on a Gastodon if it is), swap map, and redo everything. If you do this on an expedition, you can move between maps without losing the Zoomaster buff.
Every time I've spotted that bird, it was either right out of range or barely within range of the net.

On the plus side, it's not that rare. But it still sucks that you kinda just aim your net and hope for the best trying to catch one.

The ones in Wildspire (near the top of the spire in a small nest at the center of the map. Climb to the top) and Ancient Forest (near camp 11 in the vine corridor when going towards the center area, just sitting on a branch) are easy to get, provided you have Ghillie Mantle active.

I've been at this for hours and still 'almost' no results. I got the birds once. Decided to flash and to hopefully catch multiple, but then the game decided to screw me over and had the shortcut wheel not work properly to switch tools and catch them.

Anyway, if you're seeing them regularly it just means you're extremely lucky. There's no surefire way to get them, not even a high chance method.
