Is there any way to fight monsters and never get knocked down or interrupted at all?
There's something called Brace Jewel lvl 3 which protects you knockback from "small" damage so it's no use against dragons/bosses.

Is it possible to fight a large monster without being interrupted at all? I have maxed out earplugs and stun resistance but I still end up on the floor for a few seconds after being hit.

The only thing that functions like that is the Rocksteady mantle.

GS tackles, LS foresight, blocking with a shield... but if you use those it's really not useful to invest in earplugs as you can dodge roars really easily that way once you get used to it. I honestly prefer the GS tackles because you don't only give yourself hyper armor but also damage the monster if in range and you can do some damn impressive damage at that. I do around 100 damage usually but I've seen a video of a dude doing like 255 damage tackles on a Bazelgeuse's head.

I was hoping for a more permanent solution. Once it wears off, I'm vulnerable again.

yea rocksteady mantle is what your looking for. brace is only gonna protect against players which im still of the opinion if you have to use it, either your team is bad or its for a valid tactic that couldnt be done without it (like stacking players and spamming clust shot.)

so basically you want an i win armor set?

there is no armor in the game to supplement skill.

i have saved you hours of searching and waiting. practice.

That's as good as it gets. Your only other options are abilities of certain weapons that block/negate enemy attacks, like any shield, lance counter, GS tackle, LS foresight slash.

Yeah, Rocksteady Mantle is the only way.

Having Brace 3, Tremor Res 3, Earplugs 5, and Windproof 5 can nullify a lot of interrupts, but attacks that launch you will still send you flying.

Some weapons have ways to avoid getting hit, such as any shield with Guard Up, Great Sword's Shoulder Charge, Longsword's Foresight Slash, Charge Blade's Guardpoints, etc. But these require timing the move to counter the monster's attack.

The only permanent solution is good positioning and skill.

Guard + and Guard Up with clever use of shield covers a multitude of sins.

The closest to a permanent solution you'll get is the Resilience (light blue) food buff you can get with your palico.

Besides the Rocksteady Mantle, Felyne Feet is the only thing that prevents knockbacks. Huge knockbacks is mantle only, but you'll get up faster if you have the food active

As it's a random activation rate, it's not really a reliable method =.=

Don't cluster shots make players fly away like a heavy attack which flinch free can't prevent?

nope it can, but only at the max tier of the skill. 1 point will not be enough. 1 point is enough for LS users that cant see allies in front of them (i call em blind and deaf swordsmen.)

If roars, or tremors make or break you, you need to worry about armor spheres, your gear and practice first. "Git gud" is annoying, but getting better is true.

I for one loved earplugs 5 (also known as HGE, or high grade earplugs) in tri..free hits, free heals etc is nice. But is it necessary? ...not here. They make some things slightly easier...but more damage means its dead faster, you're gimping yourself of 4 skills which could save your bacon, do enough to kill it or topple it for a free heal.

Rocksteady mantle stays on long enough, roars are easily avoided/even then they just usually mean you can't attack during the roar...waaa.... and If you go for a defensive weapon/something without health augment..rocksteady loses a bit of potential oomph. Keep in mind high numbers only mean something IF you hit. And rocksteady covers a lot :)
There's also temporal mantle, which covers a good chunk itself. Not roars, but, regular attacks.

Health augment is the only thing reaaaaally to consider, but even then.. I wouldn't. Remember, drugs, hunting horn, and ..well..not much else is needed and that's really only on punishing (AT) fights. Roar resistance is a luxury, not a necessity.

And stuns, aside from a few things, only happen when you get hit a lot in a small interval.

Whatever build you're running, instead of 4 full on skills. Try 3 divine blessing (negates 50 percent of damage off the top..when it procs) and fortify. Just those 2, 4 1 slot gems. And see if that makes a difference which you seem to want o.0
Venusgate Dec 8, 2018 @ 4:25pm
There is no skill you can build for that completely eliminates interrupts. You can either stack evade window to roll everything, or build earplugs and flinch free and settle for knockbacks
