Deviljho Gem

I've been trying for like 2 months to get this item, I've played other games a bit but I've steadily killed the damn thing over and over and over and over again. Even with a mythic Kadachi striker gunlance, bolt gem, attack gem, affinity sliding, i can't kill the damn thing in expedition mode before it leaves the map. I was so close to killing it in time just now, and it dove and escaped as it had the totenkopf pulsing over its map icon.

So i try to stick to investigations and optional quests, I always break the head and chest whenever i can. I wasn't good at this at first, but now I usually break both every time. I can not get this damn thing to drop. I want to upgrade my ravenous gunlance to an insatiable gunlance before i continue with the main quest and kill the three elder dragons after nergigante.

What's the secret here, what do i got to do?

The tail, it's ALWAYS the tail that ups gem drop chance the most (granted investigations are a chance on their own).

Secret is to get a sword and chop the tail, do investigations with gold boxes...or SoS and get someone to help you...or...

Gold wyvernian print - and melder. You can meld the gem. Just wait or progress and get it the next time the print drops and do it then.

No secret just pure RNG. Just do investigations with the gold boxes on it and pray u get a gem. But really 2 months of trying? I'd just uninstall tbh if the game hates me this much. 2 months of trying to get a Deviljho gem and no drops lol.

actually if you check the hunters notes. most of the time monsters will have ~3 parts that can be broken for a gem chance.

ive gotten 4 gems froma deviljho before ;p

Yes, 3, but tail ups it the most like i said + it's an extra carve and chance from the tail alone. No reason not to unless you're not capable of it/fighting something like nergi in multi where it's hard to before killing it.

That said at one point it's still rng....you can still have bad luck o.0

i feel like this should be the "answer" to the thread hahahahah.

i did 170 kulve taroth horn breaks and only got he stuff i wanted in the last 20 breaks

that said. i got 6 HBG gluttons e arly on and didnt care for them

i did try glutton out later and it blew my mind but wasn't looking for it.. people have done more KT than me and still dont have it.

as anoter mentioned.

You have more chances of getting a gem from a non tmepred DevilJho.

So go for gold and silver box investigations.

Same goes for ANY gem.

Do investigations for non-Tempered deviljho with gold rewards. Cut the tail for extra carve. Break its head and chest. Remember break threshold of parts is much higher online than solo so if you can do it alone, do it alone. You are more likely to break all parts alone then online.

Do all the Limited Bounties (when a festival isn't on) and use the gold wyverian print to meld the gem. It is possible to get any gem except Lunastra gem this way every week.
