Joining Another Optional Quests Does Not "Complete" Yours

Just joined another player's optional quest and beat it. I look at the list and the "Completed" mark isn't there. What the hell? I completed it though, several times. The game doesn't register you beating a quest if you join a game. The co-op system has serious issues.

I had one quest I didn't complete but then I joined someone else's game and it said I completed it

If I'm not mistaken, there is a warning, if you join someone else's quest after 10 minutes; it won't registered as completed, and quest reward reduced

Joining another optional quest does complete yours, unless you join after the 10-minute mark.

and you have to have that quest on your list, I've lost count of how many times I did some quests that weren't listed for me yet and when I finally got them on my list I had to complete them again

Correct. I just tried again and it worked. I must have joined the previous quest after 10-minute mark.
