The "new" bit, is something a lot of players of old mhw games have trouble with too..not to mention others of similar games.
Personal opinion - has to do with muscle memory, what you're used to, and you're used to/want different combos..and want it to go a diff way that you're used to.
Heavy and light bowguns aren't useless..just slow, longsword takes practice/finesse. GS is easy. And bowguns are dependant on ammo too...so..there are other ways you can win.
And side note - i made a post speciiiiifically about helping with stuff like this - session id ..is something like 3pseatmpDtM or something (the other post should be on the front) come and i'll help, even use a longsword, weapons.....or i can go with a HH and buff you so you can get some practice.
anyway, bowguns shine more in high rank, LR they're...tough.
Forgot to add - anjanath is a light version of one of the main monsters (well main now) pickle aka deviljho, so people who've played before know how to kill it...but it's a trex.
It, and a lot of monsters can avoid some major hits by simply, doing the bob barker method, aka neuter/going between the legs and attacking from there. They can't breath fire between their legs.
i still remember almost giving up on this game fighting diablos. MHW also my 1st mh game.
best weapon matchup again anja imho is water bow and LBG normal rapid or spread,
be patient and keep shooting his butt and wing when it open up
when his wing open up, that when his most damaging move unlocked, dont be greedy
or you can just ignore what i sand and fire sos,
prolly some bored high hr hunter will join and help you
"Not going to upgrade and practice with 14 different weapons to see what works"
Sorry breh, that's how this goes.
You will always be able to increase attack and defense every mission and can carry 10 mega potions every hunt from farming honey.
Craft the armor with the highest fire resistance and defense. Try to upgrade armor to increase defense. Head to the resource center and register easy bounties such as hunt large monster and investigations you have that give you good money.
The bone shotel should work but you could try the Jyuratodus LS since Anja hates water damage.
Yeah, that's why I don't usually do MP, I kind of like to figure it out for myself and beat the thing one on one.
Other than that, eat food for health before going on quests.
Upgrade your armor and learn to position yourself if you're dying a lot.
Learn how your prefered weapon works and the best ways to use it.
Wouldnt recommend using bowguns for players just starting out, as it has low damage.
Also dont do a dark souls approach of stab 1x run away, as itll just drag the quest on for many minutes.
