Dawning Tranquility and Royal Cross Mace (I'm personally using this one) are also worth considering. Non-elemental for these too.
The final Nergi weapon seems like a nice option to slot in on a set if you don't want to commit to Handicraft. Maybe even an elder slayer set built for a specific elder (Kush or Kirin)? You need to fight Ruiner Nergi to fully upgrade though.
Now that Rajang is out I think it's hammer might be pretty good too.
You'll squeeze a little bit more out of the Grinding Mallet if you bother with Handicraft and all the stuff surrounding that, otherwise if you're lazy or don't really care about maximum damage use something else, whatever suits your mood I guess.
I flit between The Grinding Mallet and Mane Malice Rajang, mostly because of the size four decoration slot it has on it more than anything. Grinding Mallet gets purple sharpness but requires heavy investment to reach, Mane Malice Rajang only gets white but achieves that with a single point in Handicraft (easily slottable into the Hammer itself, etc)
Personally, I'd go with the meat hammer, probably not the best dps since it only gets blue sharpness, but slapping monsters with your meat is too much fun.
