How does pawswap work?

How do I get the most out of pawswap? Does item rarity matter or is it just if they want it or not? Do I have to leave the expedition after every 3rd trade or is there another way to reset it? What are the best items to trade away? What are the best items to receive?

You can travel to another location and return to reset trade counter.

Any item that can be gathered from current location, not from fighting with monsters, can be received. You can get even Wintermoon Nettle from pawswap in Hoarfrost Reach or other endemic life.

Watch the reaction of the cats, they have at least 3, excited, curious and indifferent. Some good items are binoculars (yes I bought plenty and never regret it because of it) astera jerky, meats and if you give them stuff like traps and dust of life they might use them in combat if you have them recruited during hunts.

And if you want to speed it up, just go on expeditions, trade 3 times then change to another area and repeat.

You can only get rare endemic life if you already catch it.
