Laptop cpu temp safe?
So I have a msi ge 75 raider 9sg. Got the i9 9k processor. Rtx 2080 yada yada. It's a gaming laptop note. And when playing simply just monster hunter my cpu temps hit a max of 90 celcius. Never goes over that rarely 91 or 92. Just curious as if this is safe temps for my processor and a gaming laptop. Also I have it on sport/turbo mode as well. As long as it's safe to play it that way in long sessions I'll be happy. Plus theres no bottle necking or frame dips. Everything seems fine just the high temp worries me. Not sure of it's just monster hunter being a bad pc port because all ok ther games even cpu heavy dont hit my cpu temo that way lol. Again it's only for this game itself. I hope it's safe and I'm just overthinking it with this laptop I got. I love it.

And again extra confirmed low settings. My fps is amazing lol. However my cpu is sitting at a solid 90 celcius still. Its soo weird.

When you turn the game off, does it slowly decrease, or go instantly down to 50-40?

Slowly but not too slowly. Normal increase

I have a cooling pad. And uve done some testing. Borderlands 3 gta 5 rainbow six seige red dead redemption 2(neat ultra settings) destiny 2 all ran fine on temps with the setting maxed out minus rdr2. The temps averaged 75 to 85 on the games. The cooler boost doesnt even need to come on but with mhw cooler boost plus my fan my cpu is at 90 sometimes 91. Never freezes crashes lags. Hence my confusion. It's literally just this game even at the lowest settings. The trees are great but the cpu temp doesnt change lol.
Well MH anti-cheat system actively scan your game while playing which increase the load on your CPU by a lot. The newer MH update did reduce how often the system do a scan but it's still there. Some people see a good improvement by deactivate the anti-cheat by using reset CRC, so you may want to try that as well. :winter2019cooldog:

Would I get banned if I did that?

Do you use Windows Defender? I used it while playing MHWI, and it took CPU usage like 30% and CPU's temperature was always around 90 Celcius degree while playing, even though I didn't notice any stuttering or frame drop. So I used other vaccine program to turn it off, and CPU usage from Windows Defender has gone, also temperature got lower to around 75-83

Hmm didn't think about that will disabling do the trick I dont wanna remove it lol

No but at worse the anti-cheat system will crash your game as long as it still detect "cheats"

Nope as far as I know. MH is not VAC protected so steam don't give a poop, MH itself also have no system in place to actually ban you.

It's a laptop. High temps are inevitable, especially with something that puts out as much heat as a 9900k

90 IS a little high, but still within safety range. Your cpu throttles to protect its self at 100.

Pretty much this. Although I will say your laptops lifespan will shorten while sitting at 90c as your avarage temp. I would go to settings and limit max cpu usage say to 90%. That alone will drop temps quite alot. That 10% off from cpu won't affect performance but you will see a huge drop in temps.

I hate cheating in games. Against it so I think this may be a last resort cause I heard something about this being a huge problem and people actually reported a huge drop in cpu temps. I'm just getting alot of other people telling me.lff steam that the game was badly optimized/ported to pc.
Most modern hardware will start throttling once it gets too hot. I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much - Lots of modern hardware is designed to run a lot hotter than old stuff anyway, the Radeon VII for example won't thermally throttle until 115C

if somehow it doesn't self throttle and the auto heat shutdowns don't kick in, there's a good chance that your system will just become unstable and crash before it becomes permanently damaged. (I've had this happen to me once when the pump in my old computer failed - it crashed a couple of times, I noticed the pump wasn't working and I simply replaced the pump and it worked fine for years after)

It's worth mentioning that running at high temperatures and more heat cycles will most likely reduce the lifespan of your parts, but it's the sort of deal where you might get 4 years out of it instead of 5, but you should probably be replacing it before then anyway.

TLDR; if it's stable, let it do it's own thing and it'll be fine.

Which settings would the be under.
I mean, its a laptop, it is bound to get hot by doing nothing, "safe" CPU temps are about 100C, more than that and your PC woud shut off by itself to avoid breaking it, but 90 is never good for the life spam of hardware.

I would advise using stackers loader (the thing that enables mods) even if you dont wanna mod the game, it kills the anticheat and lowers CPU usage by alot.

I have a Sager with the same parts, but my CPU never exceeds 65c while playing this game. You may want to lock it to 4.2 or 4.5GHz on all eight cores while playing this game, because it sounds like your factory cooling is barely up to the task. I am of course, assuming that you are running full fat 5Ghz with HT on. I did re-paste with Thermal Grizzly, but otherwise, it's in stock condition.

This crc info is totally wrong.
The mod maker responsible said that it doesn’t do anything anymore as the threads are gone. They modified
Deonova (spelling) and removed that.

A 9990k and 2080 in a laptop is gonna be smoking hot.
Those other games maybe use 20-30% of your cpu. MHW
Is very heavy on it even without the anitcheat problems. Some
Games just are.

Those two parts put out an insane amount of heat for any laoptop size cooling. I can almost 100% guarantee that laptop will only last a few years. The leadless solder on the BGA will start to crack from the extreme temp changes. And with those parts, there are plenty of extreme temps.

I would find a setting I like the game running at and then undervolt the cpu and cpu.
Chances are u could drop a good 10deg with a small hit
In speed.
That or get used to custom fan curves and set everything to 100% when gaming.
