also, savage jho can in fact stop being enraged. Check the eye-con (that's it's name) on the map. If it's yellow, you're good.
Also, if his attacks take 70% of your health.... at 870 defense???
I was at only 750 when I fought him, and his pin didn't even have the ability to oneshot me.
I wonder how did you manage to get to this stage of the game and you're not stuck on jagras. 440 hours of fighting monsters and "the only fight i was able to kill it, i spammed clutch claw literally non-stop". What about hit it forelegs forexample and dodge stuff? Shara is one of the most dodgeable/predictable monsters.
I genuinely feel bad for everyone you have joined thru sos flare.
And no, Savage isn't broken and has weaknesses
Usually when i approach jho i usually carry flash bombs in my inventory He has an annoying unblockable move where he picks me up and slams me on the floor then does a follow up smash attack that usually kills me, so the flashes are there strictly to get me out of that situation.
I also make sure i'm geared appropriately for him, Stamina thief Secret helps alot(his gear set bonus) since he gets tired super easily already and i use the unblinking gatekeeper unlocked for the dragon damage since hes weak to that element with all the guard + handicraft and full speed sharpening + Protective polish anything after that id focus on vitality and divine blessing if i can make it fit. i usually carry armor seeds and nulberries to avoid having defense down and dragonblight for too long. as for mantles i carry an impact mantle and either a temporal mantle(great for safe clutch) or a healing station. Its not a DPS optimized setup but i approach most monsters like this and killed everything in the game solo without any issues thanks to it
I power guard/counter stance any chance i get and usually try to stay under his chest/head using steps and a forward +Y to close the distance i need to him and get as many faceshots as possible(its his weak point) that tires him out pretty quickly opening him for free hits.
Id be very cautious about how to use the clutch claw since its not that reliable if used normally, i usually use the counter clutch when im looking to get that tender hit or launch to a wall but im even careful with that since i can still take damage while mounted and deviljho can pretty much easily kill me.
Same with kushala actually it seems like any stupid thing he does can knock you out of clutch even if its not actually using the part you're mounted on. just watch how they move and try maybe mounting just before they finish their attack or when they are clearly tired or have their attention elsewhere.
