anyone else kinda find the majority of the female armor lackluster?
Like dont get me wrong i like the elegant dresses, princess outfits and occasional skimpy designs as much as the next person. pukie pukie, legiana, namielle, shara ish...shara, etc are some of my favorites.

but anyone else find some of them kinda... really ugly?

like the oversized skirts of bracideos or rathian etc?

Personally im hoping Capcom decides to add more knightly looking armor sets into the pool like the kushala, Tigrex B, jyratodus + etc. maybe thats just my inner fangirl for more noble knightly armor that covers the whole body and just looks good and feels good to wear speaking but still.

also i do kinda like to cover the characters face just cause i find no matter how hard i try to design it theres always gonna be that uncanny vally look from a certain angle or lighting etc.

p.s speaking of uncanny vally please for the love of god give the handler an outfit with a mask cause her face is horrifying.

Of course you're gonna find some of them not appealing. I mean, look how many armor sets there are...

I actually like most of the female armor, and there's quite a bit of variety in the looks, styles, and designs. My least favorites are the overly bulky armors that have the character covered head to toe. Those are totally unappealing to me, and something I would never use or wear.

I personally favor the armors that show some skin. The styles of those just look cooler and more appealing to me. Too much bulky armor with head to toe covering would cause me to not play the game anymore or buy future software.

Thankfully Capcom doesn't seem to listen to some of you, because the game would be incredibly boring if some of you had your way with the armor designs.
Yeah, there's a lot of bulky and a lot of cutesy armor sets. But there's not that many that just look practical and most of them have either unfortunate or useless stat-combinations.
I for my part am just looking forward for all armors to be aviable as layered armors so I can have a practical look with practical skills.

Not only are you insulting a MH stable, no but also the glorious battle skirt? Heresy! Name a more iconic duo than "preparing-for-quest-rathalos lacerator GS dude and low bowgun rathian maid" from the intro for Monster Hunter G on PS2. I'll wait....

Is it that hard to install a few mods?
I saw mods to make the handler prettier, I saw mods to turn layered armour into other game characters, use the 3DS weapons and armour instead of World's original equipment.

And you're using some forum to try to reach a japanese company to change the game assets as you see fit?

Do you realise how futile that is?
Seriously.

1: id prefer not to install mods simply because i prefer not to get banned or ♥♥♥♥ up my game somehow by messing with something i have no idea how it functions.

2: if you actually read anything here you'd know im not trying to reach a japanese company to change assets. Its called the "Discussions tab" i started a discussion by posting a thought to see other peoples thoughts on it.

Seriously.

I don't like using cosmetic mods that drastically change that appearance of something if other players can't see it. I've seen perfectly fine looking mods, but they're usually tied to the harvest set or some other hideous layered piece, and part of the fun of fashion is running around in your set for others to see.

With the new layered armours they graced us with finally... although few they may be I've gone to wearing the Girros armour set with just strat glasses head, looks fairly cool/classy, although I agree a vast amount of the sets look horrible, although I do like the Barioth beta set and Zeno Beta set.

No, I definitely hate a lot of the female armors, but I get the feeling they were going for 'function' over fashion for Monster Hunter World's theme. Maybe. But your mileage may vary, much like how some people like Handler (for some reason). (I'm tempted to get the Tyrant DLC tho. I think it's a vast improvement over her design. XD)

All armors available as layered sets will be very nice. As long as they do that, and have a decent number of costumes that fit ALL players tastes (from skimpy to fully armored and everything in between) then they'll have done a good job on the armor in the game.
Vandals[UK] 6/fev./2020 às 15:19
Master rank's Lunastra B looks alright. Certainly has the Saber feel from Fate Stay Night. Silver Rath looked decent (very much always has been). Velkhana isn't bad. Shara B looks acceptable too.

The thing is, a lot of the armour were from old series there they incorporate the appeal of the monster onto the armour itself. The result is ugly armour that makes player look like the actual monster.

Because taking the male armor, opening the helmet and cutting some of the pants to show the thigh isn't boring.
Then again I absolutely despite any form of fanservice in games. Cover up your junk, I'm not interested in seeing your underwear or cleavage.

I'm kind of in the same boat but I've grown to accept that I am in the minority and am luckily finding some armors that are practical without showing thigh/cleavage/the entire abdomen. They are few and far apart, but they exist.
Dart 6/fev./2020 às 18:24
To be honest, a lot of the armors in this game are extremely hit or miss but it's obvious most of the hunter design team worked on armorsets over the weapons.

95% of the weapons in this game are objectively hideous.

We all know that the budget went into the monster's visual design and room decorations :)

Same again, to add to this, er, train, I guess.

The unwritten rule that apparently, what at least feels like, 80% of the armour must gratuitously expose the inner thigh/crotch irks me, especially on armour that otherwise looks like it was going for a more 'heavy' armour aesthetic over 'light'. If the entire armour has that sort of look then I don't particularly mind, as that is at least consistent.

I'm really glad we got the Radobaan Layered armour.
