Why are Diablos and Black Diablos so hard compared to everything else?
Killing a Deviljho and Lunasta same quest? No prob, had plenty of heals left over and no deaths.
One single Diablos? Die twice and go through almost all my mega potions.
I don't even want to talk about black diablos...

I find myself constantly diving out of the way and stunned into kill combos.
Any tips for dealing with these guys?

Paralysis is insanely useful, so give your palico the ladybug weapon and, if you're using a weapon where it makes sense, consider making a paralysis weapon. Screamer pods are nice in that it's basically a free face tenderizing opportunity, but you only get 3. Traps are also pretty cool, but iirc they can destroy shock ones if they dig underneath it.

I actually just use a LBG the wyvern mines, mixed with their continual charging makes them extremely easy targets to break horns and simply lead them around from safe distances, I suggest narga armor fill evade window and duk evade distance as long as you know the timing your essentially immortal.

I find they are the easiest amongst mid game monsters. Keep a look at their face, they usually turn directly at you and give plenty of time to gtfo their way.

When they tunnel, you can screammer pod them out for free opennings, or if HH, some have a move that's just a free screammer pod. I use it quite a bit against them and if I were diablos, I would rage quit after it. Also you can lance them out if anything else fails by just counter hitting them. Or spread HBG them for infinite stumble.

My only bane in this game is lunastra... Fck her.

Different difficulties for different players. And sadly, 3 screamers are not really enough for Black Diablos. I've never used HH, so that's all I have.

Hunting Horn was made to take down Diablos'. Having free Mind's Eye and blunt damage makes you a horn breaking machine, and there's one melody in particular called Sonic Waves that is like an infinite use Screamer Pod.

MR Black Diablos is the only version that can dig faster than HH can play the Sonic Waves melody, and only when she's enraged. The HR versions and MR Diablos have no way to stop HH from having its way with them.

Just go bow or HBG and focus their wings which are huge weak spots. They are the only monster in the game with such a high hit zone value on their wings which are so easy to target as ranged.

They were, you can get them by killing the flying wyverns in the wildspire waste around the quicksand trap.

This post doesn't look too old but I just wanted say as a GS user can confirm that breaking the reduces damage from attacks normally done by their horns including digging and normal rams. You can also guard to reduce damage when they dig underground though it does take some toll on your weapon so you'll have to sharpen a bit often if you don't have protective polish or master touch. It's pretty useful in other scenarios to guard as well including Namielle. This also applies to Nergigante and Rajang. If you break their horns damage is reduced from the attacks done by them including dives and rams from Nergigante and running you down from Rajang.

On top of everything people suggest you might also want to actually use wepons whit block. People tend to think monster hunter is about maning weapons when in reality it's not that hard to learn a weapon the game expects you to use most of them especialy in solo.
Lance SNS HBG whit shield and Charge balde make solo fights vs diablos a cakewalk.

Even in Gen vs Bloodbath Diablos people would bring shield weapons.
And blodbath diablos is like Temepred Black Diablos X 2.
it doesn't it lets you run free and wild as one likes

Blos are just generally awful monster to hunt from economic stand point

After you make anything from them, you'll be better hunting other tier 2 monster that doesn't burrow 50% of the time & having the material to kick them out of their burrow kinda rare & unfarmable

Screamer pod are the 2nd most expensive material for hunting tools simply because you can't get it anywhere outside of desert barnos
No large monster drops it, back in previous MH, its tied to an easy boss, even then it can't be farmed

1st being whetfish scale+ simply because you need to fish it & using net still counts "unfarmable" i miss my fish farm of MHFU

MR Blos burrow are EXTREMELY bad in MHW:IB
Compare to bloodbath MHGU & several other iteration, blos usually only stay in ground 75% of the time, or just doesn't spam burrowing

On top of you will be forced off when you clutch if blos start burrowing, even when your action is animated

Lance destroys them pretty hard, especially after you got the clutch counter claw move in IB. You got good hitzones with the weapon as well.

I would rather fight a whole starfleet of Diabloseses than one Tempered MR Lunastra. Other than my first 30-40 hours with the game (I started with MH3U on the Wii U) I never really had a problem with Diablos. Tempered Black can pose some problems if you are having an off day.... but, compared to Temp Lunastra or Temp Rajang..... psshhhh, Diablos is like fighting a Hornetaur.
