Elder Dragons in Iceborne are pure cancer to fight
I can deal with Barioth jumping around 24/7 or other bs but why the hell are Elder Dragons in Iceborne just some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spammers with there 2 hitting attacks while running around like on ♥♥♥♥ing Drugs

Example:have to fight this cancer kirin in the quest where he has no Horns, tried GS,Gun lance, longsword etc and he just doesnt ♥♥♥♥ing die and im not looking forward to fight the other bs dragons

Edit:Killed it now with the brachydios sticky 2 ammo,it didnt kill me once

I noticed 8/10 times people cry about monsters being to hard to kill its people stubornly refusing to let go old the endgame weapons from the base game.

Also kirin is definatly the most anoyng elder in the game arguably only Kusala Daora is harder or more Anoyng.
Ruiner Nergigante Valhazak(if you bring efluva resitance) Teostra and naminele are much more menagable.
Only lunastra is still hard but only if you do not bring proper gear.
Doesnt kirin have the least health amongst all the elder dragons?

I prefer the hammer combo for Kirin.. the auto clutch claw.. it really knocks him always.. works as well with elder dragons

Kirin and teoastra is one of easiest elder for me, kusala is now my most hated elder, it is pure cancer after the flashpod nerfed

Kirin in that quest has less HP but stronger lightning and permarage, you just gotta find openings without resorting to crutch claw.

Yes as this guy stated the Hornless kirin is harder than the regular one as its also enraged 24/7 so you cant use wall slam.
I used the switch axe and killed it in 16 minutes. It dealt a lot of fkn damage with its stupid hard to avoid lightning, but other than that, it was just Kirin.

I definitely agree, but I find Lunastra to be incredibly annoying, especially when I play GS against it. GS in general is very hard to use against elder dragons such as teostra, or some of the other fast ones, even tho I could beat ruiner nergigante with it.

PS: I find namielle annoying too, because of her health. I spent 40 minutes once, trying to kill it with the most powerful switch axe I could craft at the time. Also, it's annoying that it has double blights, both of them being frustrating as hell, and even with thunder resistance it still has immense stun potential on its attacks. Not a hard elder dragon, but a very nerve-wracking one.

The Kirin with the broken horn? You mean the rajang pre-quest?

The dumb Zinogre HBG shield build still worked on him, idk. Blasted his face with spread shells like any other monster, and he went down faster than you could say 'jesus Christ that was fast', so I don't know what your problem is, dude. I think it even has a health decrease from what I felt when fighting him. I didn't even get the opportunity to sleepbomb him.

I play MHW on the ps4 but it's the exact same game regardless of platform so I'll input my thoughts regardless.

As already said by others that kirin is constantly enraged thus you shouldn't use your clutch claw, it's a one way trip straight to camp. As for build wise you could use one of the many bow gun builds or even lance builds. They're safe and sustainable. Maybe use flash fly cage with your palico for those clutch heals when need be. Thunderproof mantle is a must, obviously. In fact I'm pretty sure it actually has a smaller health pool than your standard kirin. Also try to do it solo. Kirin, and by extension most other monsters get so much more chaotic when they have more than one target and it becomes more difficult to predict their next moves.

There are so many resources available to you. Sleep, poison, the works. Man, even the temporal mantle post nerf is still a god like defence item. Don't be afraid to use anything you can to gain that edge in combat.

Just keep trying hunter, you'll get him eventually. Perseverance and persistence are key. Don't give up, it'll feel all the more sweeter once your finally put the beast down. Comparing kirin to other elders doesn't help at all. Every monster has their own gimmick and elders even more so. Kirin just happens to be Thor and Sleipnir's love child is all.

Saying stuff like "HuRr WaIt TiLl YoU SeE *this monster* YoU'Re In FoR iT" is just daft and a waste of thread space.

I love fighting kirin with longsword. it's slightly more annoying because you need purple sharpness for rage mode, but otherwise. It's always a lot of fun.

I just am sad it's less difficult than arch tempered. Arch tempered kirin will spray thunder everywhere and then try to jam its horn into your jaw. Master rank kirin just, prances around while swinging the horn. I loved getting zapped and kirin just walks up to me and just...

These topics are getting ridiculous. Ranting and raving about how hard things are, then finds an easy way to deal with things. "Oh, that was easy."

B-but what will I do when I need to make a new thread about how hard and unfair rajang is because he can punch the ground and do big damage to me and he can recover from his stagger and it punishes you for doing good etc etc etc etc

Inb4 someone has already posted the very same thread 5 hours ago

Imagine the Steam forums when a brand new release called "Pac-Man" is introduced. People flocking to the boards to say how hard the game is because these damn ghosts keep following me around trying to kill me. "I eat a power pellet, but it only lasts 15 seconds and they start killing me again! I give up!"
Fawks Feb 7, 2020 @ 6:11am
I was under the impression that this Kirin has less HP due to the broken horn etc.
He just died so fast :x
Thunderproof mantle makes the whole fight a lot easier

I have one answer for you.

Magda gemitus vulcan with sticky 3/cluster 3. I dunked that sucker the other day with sub 12 minutes using this set up. No health augmentations to heal either.
