Aerial is not how you do optimal damage, that much is clear. But Insect glaive is THE mounting weapon, and no other weapon can reposition as freely, nor get as much free damage in as a glaive can. If your ignoring its mounting capability, or you run around and do nothing but smash the tails and knees of monsters, your better off with dual blades since your very clearly not interested in using a glaive to its maximum potential.
The trick for him is to sieze your windows of opportunities after his attacks. Most of his attacks he has such a fast recovery that you need to hit him once and back off. Fortunately, his health pool isn't massive.
As a HH I hate fighting him because it's hard as ♥♥♥♥ to hit his head. He's all ARMs.
The IG was not designed to fly around origionally. It was origionally designed as a very mobile ground weapon. That was able to vault and mount freely compared to other weapons. It's similar to the duel blades in that it hits very fast while on the ground, and benefits heavily from elemental or status. But unlike the duel blades it has range, and the user needs to know the combos well to be able to weasel out of an oncoming attack.
The problem was IG was kind of a ♥♥♥♥ weapon because the animations planted you in place. Till generations where you could get more aggressive with aerial or valor styles.
It was given the ability to fly in World, and people treat that as the defining trait. Which it isn't. And finally you have the kinsect and dust which is more potent on the ground (the intended use).
Oh wait, it's obvious, the mentality of the devs is "make it harder".
Good old Rajang unwanted penetration
9/10 for me.
no quakes, no yelling, and some evade distance for spirit bombs and screw attacks.
Everything else about him is just like his armor set. I'm angry and I want to Hurt you.
He's easier to deal with than Savage, savage just wants you to take a hit of his blunt... I'm like nah fam, and then he blows it in my face until I'm out of stamina, then he Rolls on top of me like a dog playing in snow... At least deviljho's armor set has skills that are relevant outside of poison bleed volcano runs. Too bad you can't poison yourself.
SO IMPRESSIVE!
