What's the best way to utilize the mantles' deco slots?
Is there any common consent as to what are the most beneficial skills to put on the mantles (which only activate temporary)?
I usually put on Palico Rally for solo to take some heat off when I need to heal,
and weakness exploit for multiplayer.
Most likely I'm not using the slots to their full potential.

I put stun resistance on my vitality mantle. Usually I only use my vitality mantle when I'm in a bad spot, and it gets me out of sticky situations and lets me heal up before I cart, so protection against stuns as I'm getting smacked around is great

I wish you could set loadouts on mantles. When you're doing mass Tempered Elder Dragons and you're swapping out Xproof mantles here and there, or you're swapping loadouts and the decorations change in 'em, it's annoying.

For me I usually use mantles that only have size 1 slots, so Attack is about all I slot into it. Worthless, but since I'm used to chucking / switching mantles semi-often and also I often forget to wear them anyway, it hardly matters.

Some people slot in Divine Blessing, Recovery Up, Fortify and Free Meal too, etc.

With some of the "better" mantles that provide larger slots, you have more options, in that case I'd slot something like Slugger or Partbreaker jewels or something. If you're using one with the four slots you'll have a lot more freedom, but those mantles tend to be less useful (although it depends on your playstyle, I guess)

depends on what you fight.
Ex: thunderproof mantle on kirin using mind's eye,
Or generally slotting marathon runner or bombardier on ghillie mantle, divine blessing in rocksteady. or crisis, whatever element or status attack on apothecary. Idr the size, but peak performance on vitality mantle would be pretty busted.

Depending on how you play those might make sense to you.

I've been sticking with the elemental mantles and in those I now slot 2 Destroyer jewels and keep 1 Destroyer jewel on my build.

This enable me to destroy most parts on a monster and they both have long duration so when one is done the other one is almost done for use.

Even if the mantle isn't going to help me in the battle with elemental protection I still get use out of the destroyer jewel.

Coalescence on immunity mantle.

You put it on to cure all blights status, defence down. And it procs the 90 second buff. It's my go to mantle deco set up. Very useful. Dps boost at your choosing.

If the mantle timer runs out but you are still wearing the "net", do decoration skills still work?

On 99% of my loadouts I use Glider + Immunity. As others have said, if you put 2 lvl 4 jewels in that both have maintenance, you will get 100% uptime on mantles. This essentially means you get 2 additional level 2 skills (or a level 2 and a level 3). I got lucky and snagged 2 Critical/Maintenance jewels early on, so most of the time I put those in my glider and 2 critical jewels in the Immunity. I will also sometime use a Brace/Maint in it (since the Immunity Mantle has a 3 and a 2).

You can do the same thing (except no option for a level 3 skill) with the elemental mantles, but I prefer Immunity so I don't have to swap out for each different monster. Plus, Immunity mantle stops more than just blights, like Stun, Poison, Para, Sleep, environmental damage (including damage from a hot zone). It's also the only thing I know of that can prevent Blastscourge from Brachy.

Fireproof prevents blastscourge as well.

Good to know, thanks! I think I knew that at one time because my Brachy loadout has Immunity and Fireproof on it, it's just been a while since I've fought him.

And now that I think about it, Cleansing Booster probably does as well.

This is good info and am starting to realize how useful Glider is just for the uptime and short cooldown. One question, if I have Handicraft/Maintenance jewels to use, what happens when it turns off for Handicraft exactly? I assume that it takes into account whatever wear I've already done and drops down to my set handicraft level. Probably that, but for some reason I can't wrap my head around it.
