Is there any good method to farm great spirit vein gems?
I have tons of the t1 and t2 stones but these dragon elder augment stones simply don't drop as often as the other 2.

I already slaughtered many temp ed but the stones won't drop.

I guess you win some and you lose some. It helps to not care about the drops so much too, I usually don't even pay attention because I'm either combat collecting, or because it's kind of a rush to spam through menus and stuff.

The novelty of the Grinding Lands has worn off at this point, now it's just work.

I am aware if you carve a Great Spiritvein Gem you get the classic animation of finding something rare though, but sadly I almost never see it because everyone just captures everything.

This does not make me salty, no sir! Not a single bit!

Actually, what am I even talking about. You can't capture Elder Dragons.

There's not much else you can do for 'em really.

You usually get at least two per kill, one from the drops and usually one from the carve or rewards table, right? I've seen loads, I thought they were more common than the streamstones of old?
killed one nami - more than 30 hides 0 stones
one hazak 3 stones
in both cases never something in the reward box
I got a few via reward box's :o

Apparently I have 12 in my item box, I know I've used 2 possibly 3, two R12 armour augments (Shara gaunts, Kirin chest) and an R12 weapon (Loyal Thunder) but I know I've slaughtered a fair amount of Tempered Elder Dragons, I'm also only MR 169, so uh yeah.

No flex / salt rubbing intended, either. I've killed so many Tempered Kushala and Velkhana I figured I'd have a fair few more than that, but apparently not. I guess they're pretty rare, maybe 0-1 per kill, a bit like Mantles / Palliums / Crooks / whatever, then.

Still not as obnoxious as farming Warrior / Hero's Streamstones though, no matter how you slice it.

i have about 23 i think,,, just saving them for safi jiva weapons
since while you can remove the augments you can't undo the augment slot increase
not really any point in wasting them now

Tempered Nam in GL will probs be the best source for it since EVERYONE wants to grind it; wall slams, part breaks, etc, just get him to drop shinies

Velkhana is the most efficient to farm them. Because it has million drops. Everytime she goes all ice on herself she literally transforms into an ice pinata. You just have to break the ice of it.

I think Namielle is better. Drops tons of parts too, but is a lot easier and less dangerous to fight. But I think the best one might be Vaal just because of how easy he is. Also tons of drops. Velkhana might be better if you don't think it's a pain to fight I guess.

i found a video of arrekz about the topic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD-PDHNqN1A

he was talking about quest incoming with high gold crown rates in feb and spiritvein gems as reward in march
wasn't so clear if this is the console roadmap. at 5min

looks like we get the juicy easy way to farm them long long after safi....
Geology is really helpfull with this too.

doesn't help when rng isn't on your side so you simply end with more useless bones and hides

But you can sell those bones and hides for alot of zennie or meld them into materials you need elsewise via the melder.

droprate is really bad for the stones, you can just farm alot and hope to get lucky.
i got a lot, but i also try out different builds a lot, constantly low on gems.
