What is the next weapon upgrade for me? Dual Blades
I'm using Wrathful Predation. The Deviljo weapon.
What's the next logical upgrade for me? Rank 8 weapons?
Is elderseal any good?

Wrathful Predation is the weapon I am currently using. I made it by killing a Deviljo. Then I killed more deviljo's and upgraded it. It is a rank 7 weapon.

I would like to know what the next best weapon to go for is, and if Elderseal is worth looking for on weapons.

Hope I explained it for you.
WITH ICEBORNE:The Barioth event, 50 shades of white, has tickets you can use alongside some generic monster bits from said barioth for the rather decent guild palace weapons (which are some of the best weapons until Safi Jiva, but maybe not outright the best). High raw damage, decent crit, hidden element, potential for purple sharpness and lots of people working for them make them a solid choice. Mind you, you might not be looking at mr6 hunts if your using a tier 7 dual blade at the moment.
WITHOUT ICEBORNE: The guardian twinblades are prolly your best bet. Blast damage, ok crit, more attack than alot of lesser MR weapons. Not the best DB's on the market, but pretty good ones, albeit I dont think they have a deco slot. Pretty sure they are overall better damage than deviljho weapons, but I might be mistaken. If your looking for something you can get into right away? Lunastra Zenojiva dual blades have razor sharp on them, making their natural white sharpness last a good chunk. Decent crit, ok blast damage. They have a deco slot (or two its been a hot minute) and one augment slot. Its a festival, so XenoJiva is up all the time. Plus, getting Lunastra as an optional gets you the very handy temporal mantle.

Well elderseal isnt something you should really go for and if Iceborne is something you have you can upgrade them even further, if not try maybe the lunastra+xenojiva tree

You get half the displayed value of both, Anja are better for fire.

I don't have iceborne yet. I'm not sure if I should get it. I finished storymode and I'm kinda just not sure what to do atm
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

If you wanna use dual blades always go for an element that is a 3 star weakness to a monster you're hunting. Relying on raw damage on dual blades will make your hunts last longer than necessary sadly. So you should at least have 5 pairs of DBs for fire, ice, water, thunder and dragon.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE: There are a good amount of really tough fights where high elderseal can make mons more manageable. Kushhala daora, and AT vaal hazak for one.

Thanks this is the answer I was looking for. You give me the best advice on what to do next.

Arguably, you spend less time hunting with a strong raw set than building new sets for every element. ALSO, element builds are vastly more "expensive" decorations wise. Cutting 2-3 minutes off every fight but also needing to farm 5 blades to their final levels isn't as time efficient as just using one set, every fight.
