Starting the game in offline modus (but internet works)
What the title says.
I open MHW and it tells me even before the start-menue that the game will start in offline modus?
What's going on lol. I was able to play fine earlier this day.
Also I can't create an online session. This is weird because I didn't change anything in steam settings or whatever and my internet is fine.

Anybody else has that problem?

yeah a lot of the online features are run through steams community and what not. so if steam goes offline it'll boot anyone hooked to that server that went down. pretty much the only real flaw of the PC setup. that and always being perpetually behind on content.

to be fair a lot of games suffered these symptoms in the early years as they were lead to believe valve can run a server network and remain reliable since they are the juggernaught of the online store front platform. but its always been the case their servers go down for one reason or another and affect an entire region. upside they do better than most ISPs when steam goes down its usually only for a few minutes. so they've definently improved. atleast from my experience.

I'm not that long on steam, but good to know they're kinda working on a more stable network I guess.
Also, it is nice to know it's usually only for a few minutes, I can live wirth that. :D

yeah my ISP went out in my area one time, i had to wait 8 hours for internet again.

i was playing ark and in the middle of a big PvP war with some streamers from china when it happened. my first conclusion was immediatly they were DDoSing my network somehow. but i called the ISP and they said something was going on at the network hub and it may take some time to diagnose and fix it.

8 horus later my character woke up in a cage.
