Tips on Optional Quests/Alchemy/Anicent tree farm

Are there *must do* optional quests to prepare for the future?

What would be useful for alchmy to exchange?

What would be useful for anicent tree farm? I'm currently farming honey and shock bug.

There's plenty of optional quests that offer lots of useful things, like new canteen ingredients, new mantles and boosters, and upgrades for the botanical research group. You should honestly do all of them.

Use the tree for whatever you need. Honey is good early on because you'll need tons of it to keep your mega potions and other consumables stocked. Just swap up what you're growing as you need it. Complete certain optional quests to upgrade it to grow up to 3 things at the same time, as well as better fertilizers, particularly Soft Soil which will help you maintain all 4 fertilizers at the same time with great ease.

Flashbugs (for flashpods) are also good to get early on. They make monsters like Rathalos and Legiana much easier.

All optional quests help with unlocking a few mantles and such. Getting all mantles is just good to do. Getting all Canteen ingredients will help with making meals before hunts.
The tree, usually honey and flash bugs is the best, but anything you need really.

For items to farm: herbs, honey, flash bugs, thunder bugs, ivy, nulberries, might seeds and adamant seeds are all useful. Make sure to craft the seeds into the demon drug/armour skin, seeds give +10 attack or defence for 3 mintues whereas drugs give +5 until the hunt ends or you faint, so you won't need to keep reapplying them

Pro tip, once you unlock all the fertilisers, add a different fertiliser after every quest then when the oldest has 1 use left use soft soil, repeat until all fertilisers are applied then add more soft soil untill all are x9. Then send the tail riders out, every time they return add more soft soil. The tailriders returning notification works as a fertiliser reminder this way.

Do all optional quests that unlock equipment, botanical stuff or canteen ingredients asap.

Do all optionals with an ! mark cause they unlock stuff like ingredients, farmables, or mantles. Eventually you'll need to do all optionals at least once to unlock a quest which gives you tickets needed to upgrade handicraft charm to level 3 and other equipment.

You need a red completed banner next to each optional difficulty level from 1-8 stars to unlock this quest called White Winds of the New World.
