Best Insect glaive

Hi was interested in learning this weapon after primary being a longsword/ duel blades user,
but want to get a decent one, is the new behemoth one the meta at the moment thanks,
or is there a better one, have got the KT level 8 para glaive from the event.

Taroth Glaive Water with free element and water attack gems can reach around 600 raw, 600 water. Against monsters weak to water, it is hands down the best damage numbers you can pull from a glaive. Source: over 500 hunts with IG

Best generalist glaive is Grunge Storm. It is followed by Empress Ruin - which relies on Peak Performance to keep up with the others - and Tyrannis Glaive - which does significantly more damage than the others but also has significantly less white sharpness and can't reach 100% affinity without using both augments for that.
In terms of elemental glaives, both Ice and Water KT glaives are pretty good; Gae Bolg is the current best dragon element glaive; the best thunder and fire glaives are probably Verdant Levin and Gnashing Flammenkaefer respectively. The current dragon, thunder and fire options will likely be overshadowed by the Kjarr glaives from ATKT.
And finally, both of the Kulve R8 status glaives (Paralysis and Sleep) are decent options and will once again be beaten by the ATKT upgrades.
