Report a translation problem
If it is... First ensure your file backups are good, then launch a Command Prompt "as administrator" and run the command "chkdsk /f /r /x". It will say that the drive is locked and it can schedule the scan the next time you boot; tell it yes. Then, reboot, and wait many hours as it verifies that the drive is functioning correctly and attempts to mark any bad sectors to be avoided in the future.
The report can be viewed in the Event Viewer in Windows after it finishes and it boots again. You can see if it fixed anything or marked any sectors as bad. If there are a lot of errors, it may be time to replace the hard drive.
