Behemoth Slay+Fail
My team and I were on our last life when we finally slayed Behemoth BUT a teammate died from the ecliptic meteor at the same time. So this resulted in a failed mission plus no carves. Anyone else have this happen? It was so frustrating!

You will always get LAST ecliptic at the end of the fight. It's like a trigger for win or lose on the last phase.
So either you survive it by hiding, or you fail.

What Spectral said. He is basically killing himself with the last one.
I had the same result but won instead. I was the one that also died. So I sheathed my weapon away then ran to the meteor that my teammates were behind but the ecliptic meteor was almost going to land. I superman dived behind the meteor and we won somehow but I got carted from the blast even after making it. I was shaking from excitement after.

Behemoth kills himself with the last meteor, so he will be shown as slayed even if the mission failed.

As long as you have enough lives left at the end then even if someone carts you'll still get a success.

You can actually avoid it with the Jump gesture.

+1. Learn to jump. The timing is actualy pretty generous. There will be times when you may simply not have comets or will be too far away. KNow when and prep.
You wanna watch behemoth, not the meteor. Jump just as he falls to all 4 legs.

Happened to me a couple of times already. The first two were really frustrating, but maybe just because I was still farming for Drachen. The next ones, not so much, I just lowered my expectations and enjoyed the hunt regardless.

I actually got to finish the optional quest in the first day, and my special assignment is still active lol.

heh this happened to me back on console with our first real good attempt. only boulder was across the room from us (thanks to a bad bow user) so our last ditch effort was to do the jump but someones timing was off and they died. then all of us could clearly see him fall in our backgrounds.

is very sad.

I died exactly like that and ruined it for everyone else a couple of hours ago.

It is a feature of the fight

as much as this sounds like a joke, it's actually an valid idea. if you only have one life left and see your teammate is going to die of EM while you are in safety, might as well do that.
