Do the monsters reset?
i mean ive been chasing this rathalos for an hour or so and it grew its tail back (ye ive fainted a few times)

If it left the locale at some point which is likely what happened a new one spawned to replace it. Don't do expeditions they're a waste of time because monsters can leave. Do investigations instead for more rewards.

Only hunt on expeditions if you know you can kill/capture the monster within 5 minutes. The point of those is to fish and gather for RP/investigations without having to worry about a time limit for finishing an objective.
