You'll still have a fair way to go until the -really- good armors are unlocked, so treat it a bit like low rank for a while, get whatever you can grab that'll get the job done for your next fight, concentrate on elemental defences for now, worry about skills a bit later.
As far as greatswords go? Well, generally, greatsword is all about the raw damage and probably affinity.
If you can hold off for another 6 hours, the wyvern ignition is pretty much the king of greatswords, and the event should be coming up soon. Otherwise, well, I suspect the diablos tree is going to be worth inestigating.
I have defeated the Nergigante, I want to use another swrod instead of the greatsword. But thanks for the tips :)
I now need to fight the Kushala Daora.
For greatswords, I hear the Jagras greatsword is among the strongest, with the Wyvern Ignition Impact (available from an event starting in just a few hours) is the best GS in the game.
If you're looking for a new weapon to try, maybe give us an idea of what you're looking for in your next weapon? Anything is viable and can be very fun, so it's hard to suggest anything without knowing what you want.
At the point where you are in the game you should probably start farming Nerg to craft his set and the Dragonking Eyepatch and farm Teostra for his arm piece. Make sure you end up with at least Attack Boost lv4, Weakness Exploit lv3, Maximum Might lv2/3, Focus lv2 and some levels of Crit Boost if you can (Focus can be acquired through Kushala or Damascus pieces - this is the only skill you can skip in case you don't want to use GS). Upgrade your armor pieces as much as possible to max out your defense and you're good to go.
How long does the Winter event last because in 6 hours it is around 2AM and I have school tommorow.....
Oh! My bad, I'm hungry and not reading properly. But then, you did say you want to try the greatsword.
If you mean the longsword? there's one that you can make from arena coins which is apparently -very- good.
As far as builds go? I believe the current meta is to try and stack as much affinity on as possible, but yeah, go with what you can get and what feels useful, you'll start to get a feel for what works for you as you gather decorations and whatnot.
Just a thought, but a critical draw / punishing draw greatsword might be good for kushala, as you'll be looking to smack some face in that fight.
This is correct.
The deviljho one isn't bad either... When kulve comes back, one of her charge blades using the word 'horn' is a little bit better than the diablos... Basically identical with a little more defence.
