Running game in windowed/borderless mode TANKS FPS after latest (Kulve?) update
So, for one reason or another, I am getting severely bad FPS drops after the latest update which I have never experienced before. The drop seems to happen after setting the 'image quality' setting to anything other than low AND running the game in windowed or borderless mode. The issue appears to hit the special arena hardest (15-20~ FPS average). This is also after turning off/low every other setting.

Now, I DID update my drivers, (I was troubleshooting another game) however the issue still persists after rollback (I'm back on 385.28, which I know did not have issues).

I really, really want to stress, that just the week before while fighting Kulve everything was working normally. And I would go so far as to argue that the special arena map is less strenuous on the GPU to render than Kulve's arena. So please do not comment on my specs, I am only posting them in-case the issue is hardware related.

1920x1080
GTX 1070
i7-3820

Edit 1: It appears this issue may have persisted while Kulve was happening, at least if what Kaldaien described is in line with what I have experienced. It may have just not affected Kulve's arena as much as it does the special arena and I simply did not notice the drop in performance.
Edit 2: Fixed, but unexpected frame hitches still occuring (probably due to input bug that was introduced). Check replies.

I have both rolled back and removed the profile, I might try a clean driver install (I used the Windows rollback driver fuction) to quickly test.

I should also note that OCCASIONALLY, for a few seconds, the game will run at full speed again, so I'm doubting that this is driver related. I'm wondering if this is in line with what Kaldaien has found/experienced himself in the latest update, his thread is here:

Lowering the resolution seems to somewhat allievate the issue as well, however there's still a lot of unexpected hitches that I never experienced previously.

So I fixed the issue by simply running the game in fullscreen mode (not borderless or windowed). It's running exactly the same way it did before. The issue should still be looked into however as I was previously running the game borderless. I also still seem to be encountering some unexpected hitches/frame stutter still.

yes the game really sucks in windowed mode, i can understand losing a few fps since its always worse than fullscreen but it goes down to like 30 fps
