What weapon *truly* has the highest DPS?

I'm not asking that type of question where your answer is "every weapon is viable :3".

What I want to know is what weapon TRULY has the highest DPS in the game, I remember MH4U getting such a list, but I'm not seeing anything MhW related.

I can't find anything on the web, so I'm asking here if anyone has the knowledge.

What's the weapon with the highest DPS?

Cluster bomb HBG has the highest DPS. It comes with the downside that you will send teammates flying in multiplayer though, so it's really only used in solo or against behemoth.

HBG Spread 3 Glutton and elemental bow are also very strong and have the benefit of not getting you instantly kicked from multiplayer sessions.

Anyone can use clusters at almost godlike level because there is no skill requirement. Bow however has a very high skill ceiling and straight outdamages clusters on certain monsters like Teo.

i believe GS has the highest single dmg hit not the total dmg of several hits.

highest single hit damage on a pure charge, but it takes about 3 seconds to get there each time, and you still have to dodge and stuff in between. So single burst damage maybe but not damage per second.

i mainly use bone HBG and long 4 GL builds, both have a very high dps, but honestly, just play the weapon you feel good with

cluster hbg offer highest burst damage doesnt mean it have highest dps same go for GS
these weapon r offer hard hit for burst damage

For cluster to have lower dps, you would need to run out of clusters before the monster is dead. With a meta cluster build that is almost never the case.

then which weapon offers the highest dps?

honestly i can do 100-105 damage per charged shot as GL, charged shot every ~1.5sec, and reload of the same amount every 3 shots, i wonder what weapon can do better appart from cluster build

Let's think that the monster is not doing anything, it's literally standing there lifeless.
What weapon would kill it the fastest then?
Assuming you always hit the weakpoints at a perfect angle every time.
