ive caught these birds an extra 7 times by just randomly coming across them (they have a distinct chirp) when chasing the monster to another zone or when searching for the monster.
they are just slow enough that if you are already prepared you can catch them before they reach their escape bush.
you run left instead of straight to vaal and collect all the materials and the cat while you are there and you profit per trip with flash pods, mandra shroom, and devil blight. its win win
but yeah when hunting for the endemic life this is my advice. complete investigations in the area they spawn in, return to camp rather than base, and search for that life each and every time you load into the map. it might not be the 100% grind method, but it definently keeps you productive in other areas such as wyvern gem and material farming. maybe even deco farming if your doing tempereds.
